Our commitment to excellence can be seen in those who invest and believe in what we do, those who share their lives with us, those who trust in our deliveries and those committed to innovation and a sustainable future.Every day, we have the chance to accomplish something new and you're invited to be part of it.Summary/Job Scope:Operate plant and assist Operations Manager III in the daily operations, including managing the drivers.Key Responsibilities:Coordination of daily plant operations and personnelOperation of computerized batch panelMonitoring raw material feed, truck availability and sequencing, customer needs and mix designs to assure product quality and timely deliveryOrdering raw materialsOver-see the cleaning of mixer, chutes, conveyors, catwalks and other general plant areas to eliminate material build-upGeneral housekeeping of batch officeTroubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic and electrical problems in the plantVerify lubrication of all plant equipment and documentationMinor repair of all plant equipmentAssisting in emergency repair situations of plantBasic preventive maintenanceKnowledge of basic office machineryTake customer orders and understand truck schedulingRecord keeping, maintaining files, answer phones and data entryProvide directions and assistance to drivers using radio equipment and mapping softwareCoordinate daily functions with various operationsQualifications:Minimum MCA Level 1 Technician or ability to pass within 6 months of hireBasic mechanical skillsBasic computer knowledgeAbility to read and writeCustomer service experienceKnowledge of materialsAbility to handle multiple tasks at one time in a fast paced environmentKnowledge of materials and equipment (e.g., conveyor lines, concrete plant)Knowledge of local geography and truck routesKnowledge of equipment (e.g., conveyor lines, concrete plant)Knowledge of lock-out, tag-out, and confined space proceduresAbility to work extended weekday hours, weekends and night shiftsNote:<ul><li>This job description may not cover all duties and requirements and may include additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.</li></ul>WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?Being part of VCNA is being part of building famous landmarks such as Toronto's CN Tower, Roy Thompson Hall, Maple Leaf Gardens and the Darlington Nuclear Station and Ryerson Centre, St. Regis Chicago and 150 N.
