Summary/Objective 
The Purchasing Agent is responsible for managing the procurement of products to support the company&rsquo;s wholesale operations. This role ensures timely and cost-effective purchasing, maintains optimal inventory levels, and builds strong relationships with vendors to secure favorable pricing, quality, and delivery performance.
Essential Functions

<ul><li>Issue purchase orders and ensure accuracy in pricing, quantities, and delivery dates.</li>
<li>Maintain strong working relationships with suppliers and troubleshoot issues such as backorders, pricing discrepancies, and delivery delays.</li>
<li>Monitor vendor performance and participate in vendor reviews</li>
<li>Coordinate with warehouse teams to ensure timely receipt of goods and resolve quantity/quality discrepancies.</li>
<li>Work closely with sales, operations, and finance to understand stock needs and support business goals.</li>
<li>Monitor product availability, lead times, freight costs, and market trends to make informed purchasing decisions.</li>
 <li>Maintain accurate purchasing records, pricing files, and vendor databases.</li>
<li>Communicate directly with the Director with updates regarding stock inflow and outflow.</li>
<li>Compile inventory data and present it to the Director for effective decision making.</li>
<li>Checks requisitions for appropriate approval and account numbers.</li>
<li>Resolve discrepancies and process returns.</li>
<li>Approve vendor invoices for payment.</li>
<li>Follows environmental and safety regulations and acts in compliance with U.S. laws.</li>
<li>Complies with safety and corporate guidelines on business ethics.</li></ul>

Required Education and Experience
<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in business, supply chain, logistics, quantitative fields or equivalent industry experience.</li>
<li>At least two years of purchasing experience.</li>
<li>Experience in plumbing, heating, HVAC, or electrical industry preferred.</li></ul></div>
