The Opportunity 
We are looking for a Chief Technology Officer (CTO) who approaches technology as a means to solve real business problems, not as an end in itself. This role is for a business-minded technologist who can step into a complex, multi-entity organization and design the systems, structure, and strategy that will support our next phase of growth. 
 
The right candidate has experience building or transforming technology organizations, not just operating within them. They are equally comfortable thinking at the enterprise level and working alongside operators to understand how work actually gets done. They can lead across infrastructure, engineering, and data without bias, and bring strong judgment in balancing speed, cost, and scalability. 
 
This is a role for someone who can move fluidly between strategy and execution, setting direction while staying close enough to the work to ensure it delivers real impact. 
 
Location &ndash; This position is based in Omaha, NE and requires in-office presence as we deeply value the collaboration, innovation, and culture that stem from working together.

As CTO, you will: 
Build and Lead the Technology Function<ul><li>
Design and evolve the structure of the technology organization
</li><li>Lead the four core functional areas under a unified vision
</li><li>Determine the right balance between internal teams and external partners
</li></ul> 
Own Enterprise Technology Strategy<ul><li>
Create a cohesive, scalable technology architecture across all operating companies
</li><li>Ensure alignment between infrastructure, engineering, and data
</li><li>Make clear, disciplined investment decisions
</li></ul> 
Drive Business Impact Through Technology<ul><li>
Partner with leaders across operations, marketing, finance, HR, supply chain, etc.
</li><li>Translate business needs into practical, high-impact technology solutions
</li><li>Ensure systems are adopted and used effectively
</li></ul> 
Establish Operating Rhythm &amp; Prioritization<ul><li>
Build a clear process for defining, prioritizing, and executing technology initiatives
</li><li>Maintain ongoing dialogue with business leaders on trade-offs and progress
</li><li>Prevent technology from becoming siloed or reactive
</li></ul> 
Lead the Build vs. Buy Evolution (Including AI)<ul><li>
Develop a point of view on when to build custom tools vs. leverage SaaS
</li><li>Explore how AI-assisted development changes cost, speed, and capability
</li><li>Enable small, high-leverage engineering efforts where appropriate</li></ul> 

Qualifications &amp; Skills<ul><li>
Demonstrated experience as a CTO, CIO, VP of Technology, or similar senior leadership role.</li><li>
Experience building or transforming technology organizations in a growing environment
</li><li>Strong business acumen; able to translate problems into practical solutions
</li><li>Broad leadership across infrastructure, engineering, and data
</li><li>Ability to define and execute a clear, business-aligned technology strategy
</li><li>Sound judgment balancing speed, cost, scalability, and risk
</li><li>Experience with build vs. buy decisions and vendor management
</li><li>Familiarity with modern tech stacks (cloud, APIs, data platforms, AI-assisted development)
</li><li>Ability to design scalable systems without overengineering
</li><li>Strong cross-functional leadership and partnership skills
</li><li>Clear communicator of technical concepts to business leaders
</li><li>Ability to set priorities, drive execution, and deliver results
</li><li>Comfortable operating at both strategic and hands-on levels
</li><li>Experience leading change and driving adoption</li></ul>
