<div>As Surfline's Head of Marketing, you'll lead our marketing function and own strategies that drive subscriber growth, retention, and brand strength. You'll oversee a high-performing team, collaborate cross-functionally, and balance big-picture vision with hands-on execution. 
 
We&rsquo;re looking for someone with deep experience in consumer subscription marketing and product-led growth. You thrive in fast-moving environments, operate with a strong sense of ownership, and are motivated by impact, not activity. We&rsquo;re open to considering candidates at either the Director or VP level, depending on experience and alignment with internal competencies. 
 
Under Surfline&rsquo;s &ldquo;Work from Anywhere&rdquo; policy, this position may be performed on a full-time remote basis from a variety of locations in the US, with the Pacific Timezone preferred.<h3 class="jobSectionHeader">
What You&rsquo;ll Do:</h3>
Strategy &amp; Leadership<ul><li>
Develop and execute the overall marketing strategy to drive subscriber growth, engagement, and retention.</li><li>
Partner with product, data, and finance teams to be the voice of the customer and help optimize subscription funnel economics to improve customer lifetime value.</li><li>
Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing marketing team with a culture of curiosity, testing and outcomes.</li></ul>
Brand &amp; Communications<ul><li>
Elevate the brand through consistent messaging, storytelling, and positioning.</li><li>
Work closely with the rest of the organization to elevate and market specific product features and benefits that drive differentiation in the marketplace.</li><li>
Evaluate and pursue partnerships that can drive brand awareness and performance through 3rd party channels and budgets.</li><li>
Ensure all marketing efforts align with the company&rsquo;s mission and values.</li></ul>
Aquisition &amp; Growth<ul><li>
Test and optimize paid acquisition channels (digital, partnerships, affiliate, SEO, content, etc.) based on specific CPA and lifetime value parameters.</li><li>
Manage non-media channels (SEO, GEO, ASO) to drive organic acquisition.</li><li>
Test, measure, and scale new customer journeys that drive trial-to-conversion metrics.</li></ul>
Retention &amp; Lifecycle<ul><li>
Design and implement lifecycle marketing strategies (including email, push, in-app, and loyalty programs) to reduce churn and increase engagement.</li><li>
Partner with product teams to improve onboarding and user journeys that drive adoption and stickiness.</li><li>
Use segmentation and personalization to improve conversion and retention.</li></ul>
Data &amp; Insights<ul><li>
Define and track KPIs such as CAC, LTV, conversion rates, churn, and marketing ROI.</li><li>
Leverage data, experimentation, and insights to continuously improve performance.</li><li>
Present clear and actionable reporting to the executive team.</li></ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader">
What We&rsquo;re Looking For:</h3><ul><li>
8+ years in consumer marketing, ideally within a subscription business.</li><li>
Proven success scaling multi-channel campaigns that drive measurable subscriber growth.</li><li>
Strong growth marketing skills, particularly in product-led growth, funnel optimization, and growth loops.</li><li>
Expertise across acquisition, lifecycle, brand, and product marketing.</li><li>
Strong communicator and cross-functional leader with a track record of influence and impact.</li><li>
Hands-on, resourceful, and comfortable navigating ambiguity in fast-paced environments.</li><li>
Creative sensibility with an eye for brand, storytelling, and design.</li></ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader">
You May Also Have:</h3><ul><li>
Strong surf intuition and passion for the ocean - you speak the culture of surfing and/or other nearshore ocean verticals.</li><li>
Experience scaling brands in international markets.</li><li>
Background in consumer tech, sports, lifestyle, or media</li></ul>
Compensation and Benefits:
The base salary range for this position is $150,000 - $220,000. In accordance with applicable state laws, the range provided is Surfline's reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may be higher or lower, based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and location.
