Job Summary and Qualifications</b></h5><p></p><p>
The Research Outcomes Investigator plays a pivotal role in driving research in the healthcare setting as a member of the HCA Healthcare Research Institute&rsquo;s Records-Based Research team. The Research Outcomes Investigator is responsible for the planning, preparation, management, leadership, analysis, and delivery of a broad portfolio of outcomes research studies. The Research Outcomes Investigator plays a critical role in contributing to the growth of research programs and initiatives across HCA Healthcare by supporting the Research Institute program development team as they build research pipelines in alignment with service line leadership and our national physician leaders across the following service lines: neuroscience, cardiac and vascular, women&rsquo;s and children&rsquo;s, oncology, early detection, infectious disease, spine, orthopedics, pulmonary and thoracic, robotics, and behavioral health.<br>

The Research Outcomes Investigator collaborates with and supports colleagues in program development, business development, data science and informatics, finance, contracting and legal, compliance, regulatory, clinical operations, information technology, research operations, research education, and site management operations. This position also engages and aligns with external stakeholders and partners including academic partners, non-profits, sponsors, contract research organizations (CROs), and vendors.<br>

At the corporate level, the Research Outcomes Investigator is responsible for modeling best practices and supporting our Research Institute Division teams as they grow their records-based research programs. Although the Research Outcomes Investigator role is not a managing role, it is a mentoring and leadership role in regards to research.<br>

In summary, this is a highly visible and regarded role at HCA Healthcare that supports service line and physician leaders by co-designing and conducting a portfolio of records-based research focused on patient outcomes. The goal is to improve the quality of care and the lives of all patients through evidence-based practice. This research pipeline spans epidemiology, translational research, quality improvement, health equity, patient reported outcomes (PROs), surveys, real-world evidence, post-market safety, and implementation science and has the opportunity to directly impact patient care and outcomes in one of the largest healthcare systems in the United States.

As an Insurance Verifier, you will contribute to the company&rsquo;s mission, vision, and values by verifying benefits and collecting patient information for scheduled surgery center patients. Under the supervision of the CBO Director or Business Office Manager, you will be responsible for payment collection and reimbursement.</p><p></p><p><br>
What you will do in this role:</p><br>

You will obtain insurance pre-certification, verification, and interview patients prior to surgery</li><li>
You will verify patient eligibility, authorizations, benefits, and claim information with insurance companies and 3rd party payers</li><li>
You are responsible for identifying patient accounts based on PPO, HMO, or other Managed Care Organizations</li><li>
You will contact patients and provide updates on benefit verification information and financial responsibility</li><li>
You will update the patient communication module, AdvantX, with appropriate authorization and benefit information</li><li>
