<div>Position Description
The Events Manager will be responsible for organizing and overseeing events, which include but are not limited to receptions, movie screenings, private events, corporate and group events. The individual will generate and grow revenue by ensuring successful execution of events within the budget and time constraints.
Duties and Responsibilities<ul><li>
Planning, organization and execution of on-site receptions, movie screenings, private events, corporate and group events, etc. from start to finish in accordance with the requirements and in adherence to the budget and time constraints.</li><li>
Planning, implementation and overseeing of event communication strategy (i.e., newsletters, updates, special projects, invitations).</li><li>
Preparation of budgets and comprehensive reports along with monitoring of adherence.</li><li>
Solid knowledge and research skills for new vendors, markets and new promotions.</li><li>
Supervision of the staff across the team (event coordinators, admins, etc.).</li><li>
Anticipating guests&rsquo; needs, responding promptly and acknowledging all guests, however busy and whatever time of day. Maintaining positive guest relations at all times.</li><li>
Timely completion of assigned tasks and adherence to deadlines.</li><li>
Maintaining knowledge of all member services/features and hours of operation.</li><li>
Careful attention to detail, excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to establish strong relationships with both colleagues and clients of the club. This position requires partnering with different departments and outside vendors.</li><li>
Maintain complete knowledge in the use of all office equipment, computer and manual systems.</li></ul>
Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes<ul><li>
Must have strong demonstrated background in managing an Event Department.</li><li>
Must possess effective communication skills with high command of the English language, oral and written.</li><li>
Must have excellent time management skills and high organizational skills.</li><li>
Must be a leader and motivator of staff.</li><li>
Must possess effective coaching, counseling, and training skills.</li><li>
Must have ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy.</li><li>
Must be self-motivated with a high energy level.</li><li>
Must be service oriented with excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.</li><li>
Must be flexible and able to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.</li><li>
Must have basic knowledge of arithmetic.</li><li>
Must have the ability to input data and access information on the computer.</li><li>
Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office.</li><li>
Must be able to exercise confidentiality and discretion.</li></ul>
Qualifications:
B.S. or B.A. degree from an accredited university in hotel management, food and beverage operations, culinary, or related discipline
Experience:
2-5 years in a management level hospitality position with supervisory and high-volume event management experience.</div>
