We have a requirement for a Linux Software Development Engineer to join our engineers' teams in Leicester working on UK integration of the most widely deployed Traffic Light Controller in the world. 
Job Description 
What you will do
You will play a key role in the ongoing development of our software products, help maintain the highest quality and security standards, design new services and enhance existing ones and generally get to work on cutting edge systems development for the future of our urban environments.<ul><li>
To develop Linux software for a traffic light controller in the UK.</li><li>
To co-develop supporting tools, primarily in Python.</li><li>
Develop an understanding of regulations, market requirements and traffic control in the UK and turn that into actionable changes for a global product in a local market.</li><li>
Implement, document and test software solutions using C++ and possibly GoLang and/or Python.</li><li>
Design new applications and enhance existing ones.</li><li>
Work with colleagues in an international environment</li><li>
Daily work in an agile environment, develop and optimize processes and best practices.</li><li>
Interpret customer requirements specifications generating functional requirements documentation for software development.</li><li>
Maintain software development to company quality standards while helping to attain the highest security standards for our systems.</li><li>
Looking at improvements to the development process to maintain the leading-edge software development tools and techniques are used for continuous improvement.</li></ul>

Qualifications 
Your Profile<ul><li>
2:1 or better Degree in BSc Computer Science or equivalent</li><li>
Minimum of 2 years Linux software development experience</li><li>
Working with Git code management and workflow processes</li><li>
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with internal and external stakeholders.</li></ul>

What you will do
We have a vacancy for a Software Architect working in a hybrid capacity with regular access to our Basingstoke office.
This is a senior technical leadership role focused on the architecture and evolution of MyCity, our cloud-based mobility platform built on modern microservices architecture. While the role is primarily architectural, a strong background in C# development is essential to effectively guide engineering teams and ensure robust, scalable solutions.
You will define architectural standards, shape technical strategy, and work closely with development teams to deliver high-performance, resilient distributed systems. This role requires significant experience in designing enterprise-scale cloud-native applications and the ability to influence technical direction across multiple teams.
Key responsibilities include:<ul><li>
Defining architecture for cloud-based microservices solutions within the MyCity platform</li><li>
Creating architectural designs guiding development from concept to deployment</li><li>
Ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability of distributed systems</li><li>
Developing and maintaining architectural roadmaps and technical blueprints</li><li>
Providing technical leadership and guidance to development teams</li><li>
Translating business requirements into scalable architectural solutions</li><li>
Collaborating with international development teams on core architecture initiatives</li><li>
Driving best practices across software design, integration, and deployment</li><li>
Supporting resolution of complex technical challenges</li></ul>
On a day-to-day basis, you will:<ul><li>
Work closely with engineers to review solution designs</li><li>

Qualifications 
What we are looking for<ul><li>Minimum 5 years&rsquo; experience in a Software Architect or senior technical leadership role</li><li>Strong background in C# development (minimum 2+ years) with .NET 5+</li><li>Extensive experience designing cloud-native and microservices architectures</li><li>Proven experience working with distributed systems at scale</li><li>Experience defining architecture principles, standards, and best practices</li><li>Strong understanding of modern development and deployment practices</li><li>Experience with specification tools such as AsyncAPI, OpenAPI, and JSON Schema</li><li>Familiarity with containerised environments and cloud platforms</li><li>Experience with technologies such as MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis, and RabbitMQ</li><li>Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills</li><li>Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills</li><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience</li></ul>
This role is suited to an experienced technical professional capable of operating at a senior level, influencing architecture decisions, and guiding engineering teams in a modern cloud-based environment.
