Sweet Express, LLC a local growing transportation company based in Kentwood, MI is looking to hire a full time Driver Manager with transportation experience for our Breton Road, Grand Rapids, MI terminal. The schedule for this position is generally 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday.As a member of our Sweet Express team, you will:<ul><li>Manage a fleet of drivers to adhere to schedules and deliverables.</li><li>Update Transportation Management System with current shipment information, complete daily logs and trackers</li><li>Provide drivers with complete load details and detailed instruction to ensure successful runs</li><li>Have clear understanding and be able to apply DOT hours of service rules</li><li>Actively identify cost savings opportunities</li><li>Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner which facilitates the success of business operations in order to meet company demands and expectations and perform other duties as assigned by leadership</li><li>Proactively work to assist others in achieving the organization's objectives</li><li>Monitor on-time pickup and delivery performance</li><li>Comply and reinforce the US Department of Transportation laws and regulations along with company policy</li><li>Look for ways to improve and promote quality and productivity</li><li>Monitor drivers&rsquo; behavior and ensure a high level of customer service</li><li>Communicate load information to drivers</li><li>Monitor out of route miles</li><li>Document and communicate all service-related issues</li><li>Create and maintain an environment where drivers are satisfied and where overall morale is positive</li><li>Communicate directly and daily with the driving force</li><li>Work to resolve questions or issues that arise</li></ul>We are looking for the privilege of working with a person who possesses<ul><li>At least one year of experience in transportation, over the road, dry-van experience preferred</li><li>Basic knowledge of FMCSA and HOS</li><li>Basic personal computer or host terminal skills</li><li>Strong attention to detail</li><li>Ability to excel in a team environment</li><li>Looks for ways to improve and promote quality and productivity</li><li>Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness</li><li>Has strong organizational and multitasking skills</li><li>Takes independent actions and calculated risks</li><li>Has excellent verbal and written communication skills</li><li>Must be able to work in a high pressure and dynamic environment</li></ul>An ideal applicant would have the following:<ul><li>Preferably 2 + years in the transportation industry</li><li>Have previous experience with TMS software preferably McLeod</li><li>Feel comfortable learning and using new programs</li><li>Have previous knowledge of booking broker freight</li></ul>Pay is commensurate with experienceWork Remotely<ul><li>No</li></ul>Dispatcher Dispatcher Dispatcher Dispatcher DispatcherJob Type: Full-timePay: $1,000.00 - $1,200.00 per weekBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>Dental insurance</li><li>Employee assistance program</li><li>Employee discount</li><li>Flexible spending account</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Life insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li><li>Referral program</li><li>Vision insurance</li></ul>Work Location: In person
