<div>POSITION SUMMARY: We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Associate to support daily accounting operations with a primary focus on wire processing and account reconciliations. This role is critical in ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of financial transactions.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
<ul><li>Process incoming and outgoing wire transfers accurately and in a timely manner</li><li>
Verify wire instructions and ensure compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements</li><li>
Perform daily, weekly, and monthly account reconciliations, including correspondent bank accounts and general ledger accounts</li><li>
Investigate and resolve discrepancies, exceptions, and reconciling items</li><li>
Maintain proper documentation and audit trails for all transactions</li><li>
Assist with month-end close and reporting activities</li><li>
Collaborate with teams in departments across the bank including operations and compliance
</li></ul>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:<ul><li>
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.</li><li>
1&ndash;3 years of banking, accounting, or finance experience</li></ul>
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:<ul><li>
Advanced accounting knowledge and experience in reconciliation.</li><li>
Experience with Accounts Payable</li><li>
Associates degree in accounting or a business-related field.
</li><li>Experience performing accounting functions at a bank or financial institution.
</li><li>Experience with wire systems (e.g., Fedwire, SWIFT) preferred</li></ul>
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:<ul><li>
Strong understanding of reconciliation processes and general ledger accounting</li><li>
High attention to detail and accuracy</li><li>
Strong organizational and time management skills</li><li>
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software</li></ul>
COMMUNICATION:<ul><li>
Must be able to provide information to supervisors, co-workers, and customers both verbally and in written format.
</li></ul>PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:<ul><li>
Must be able to work at a computer station in front of a monitor for up to 4 hours at a time without the opportunity for a break.</li><li>
Must be able to interact with the public utilizing various methods of communication.</li><li>
Must be able to work 40 hours a week from the office (Monday- Friday 8AM-5PM)</li></ul>
MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:<ul><li>
Must have the attention span to stay alert and attentive during a normal 8-hour workday.</li><li>
The Accounting Assistant must be able to make sound, quick decisions based on the facts of a situation, and remain calm and in control in a possible ever-changing environment or an emergency.</li><li>
Must be able to follow instructions and procedures exactly as trained or as directed by his or her supervisor.</li><li>
Must be able to listen to, grasp, and respond positively to supervision and instructions by Management.</li><li>
Physical and cognitive ability to perform the essential duties and functions of his/her job.</li><li>
Ability to safeguard and maintain confidential information and directed by Federal law and Company policy</li></ul></div>
