About the role
Reporting to the Company&rsquo;s Coin Cell &amp; Laboratory Chemist, an exciting opportunity exists for a Coin Cell Laboratory Technician to join the Syrah team based in Vidalia, Louisiana to contribute to a dynamic project start-up environment and gain exposure to the rapidly growing lithium-ion battery industry.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:<div><ul><li>
Assemble coin cell batteries following standard operating procedures</li><li>
Prepare and handle materials, components, and tools in a controlled environment</li><li>
Operate basic manufacturing and laboratory equipment</li><li>
Perform visual inspections and basic quality checks on finished cells</li><li>
Record production data, test results, and observations accurately</li><li>
Follow safety, cleanliness, and quality guidelines at all times</li><li>
Support Coin Cell and Laboratory Chemist and Laboratory Superintendent as needed</li><li>
Perform equipment calibrations as required</li><li>
Support Powder Properties Laboratory as required</li><li>
Analyzing inbound raw materials and reagents to determine compliance with specifications.</li><li>
Entering measurement data into the relevant databases and assisting where needed with data analysis to support the plant QA/QC systems.</li><li>
Report all hazards, incidents, and near misses in line with Company policies and procedures.</li><li>
Continually monitor the laboratory environment to ensure the safety of yourself and other employees.</li><li>
Comply with the Company&rsquo;s Policies, operating procedures, and Code of Conduct at all times.</li><li>
Assures compliance with corporate Safety, Health &amp; Environmental rules, policies, and procedures.</li><li>
Contribute to site EHS and ESG performance by engaging and working collaboratively at all levels.</li></ul></div>
EDUCATION, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:<div><ul><li>
1+ year of previous experience in a technical laboratory role, preferably within the Chemical Manufacturing (or related) industry.</li><li>
Proven exposure to and use of safe systems of work &ndash; e.g., risk management &amp; incident reporting.</li><li>
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and work according to production schedules.</li><li>
Intermediate computer skills, including the Microsoft Office suite of applications.</li><li>
Ability to work in a team environment and share information as required.</li><li>
Ability to pass a pre-employment medical assessment and background check.</li></ul></div>
