We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Upstream <b>Scientist/Senior Scientist</b> to join our team onsite in Redmond, WA. This individual will lead and execute upstream project process development (USP) and technology transfer activities to support the development of clinical manufacturing processes for our protein therapeutics pipeline. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture, bioreactor operations, and process scale-up for biologics production.</p><h4 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Responsibilities:</b></h4><ul><li>
Apply technical knowledge and in upstream process development for CHO cells (bioreactor process design, scale up, media and feed optimization, etc.), draft study protocol, design and execute experiments including in-process tests, characterize and deliver harvest material to downstream team, and author technical reports.</li><li>
Stay abreast of technical advancements in the CMC area of CHO cell line development and upstream process development and technology transfer aligned with cGMP clinical manufacturing.</li><li>
Support the transfer, development, and scale-up of CHO cell culture process technology from research into process development and manufacturing, to enable the production of clinical material</li><li>
Collaborate with teams in downstream process development and analytical development to advance recombinant protein programs</li><li>
Lead and support various elements of early-stage CMC development activities, including technical support of non-GMP and clinical manufacturing, as well as development and implementation of process improvements, as programs advance through development</li><li>
Analyze, interpret, present and document complex technical information in statistically meaningful ways. Exhibit and improvein DoE and multi variant analysis.</li><li>
Work with the team within the project scope, manage timeline in a fast-paced dynamic environment with rigor and agility.</li><li>
Data analysis, interpretation, and effective communication to management.</li></ul><h4 class="jobSectionHeader"><br>
<b>
Qualifications:</b></h4><ul><li>
PhD with 3+ years of work experience in upstream bioprocess in the biotech/biopharma industry.</li><li>
Significant technical bioreactor use, optimization, and scale-up. DasGip or DASware experience is desired. Perfusion experience is a plus.</li><li>
Ability to work independently to troubleshoot processes and develop new methods in a flat, collaborative matrix.</li><li>
Experience in scaling up and technology transfer to manufacturing environment and understand GMP well.</li><li>
Experience and knowledge in other sections of therapeutic protein process development, including downstream, formulation, analytics, are valued.</li><li>
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to positive relationships with stakeholders.</li><li>
Proactively introduce new methods, provide technical mentorship to colleagues, and identify and execute ways to keep lab running efficiently.</li><li>
Accuracy and attention to detail.</li><li>
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.</li></ul><p><br>

Compensation and Benefits:</b><br>
The expected base salary range for this position is $90,000 to $140,000 annually. Actual compensation will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to a candidate&rsquo;s qualifications, experience, and skills.<br>

While most offers typically fall within the <b>low to mid-point</b> of the range, we may extend an offer toward the higher end for exceptional candidates whose background and expertise <b>exceeds</b> the requirements of the role.<br>
