As a Senior Mechanical Engineer at TAI, you will serve as a technical leader and Subject Matter Expert, driving the design and execution of complex projects within the high-stakes Life Sciences sector. Moving beyond day-to-day drafting, you will focus on high-level project leadership; directing multidisciplinary teams, managing project lifecycles from scope to completion, and ensuring the technical integrity of innovative HVAC and mechanical systems. This role offers the opportunity to shape critical infrastructure for a diverse client base while mentoring a talented team of engineers in a collaborative, excellence-driven environment.

Here&rsquo;s a glimpse into your day to day:
<ul><li>Leading multiple mid-size and large design projects.
</li><li>Directing other engineers and designers for preparation of drawings and reports.
</li><li>Managing scope, schedule, and budget for assigned projects.
</li><li>Functioning as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for various projects and teams.
</li><li>Collaborating and coordinating with other engineering disciplines and stakeholders.
</li><li>Researching applicable codes and industry standards.
</li><li>Interpreting codes and collaborating with other design professionals as needed.
</li><li>Preparing engineering analysis and reports, including conditions assessment.
</li><li>Preparing advanced engineering calculations and reviewing calculations prepared by others.
</li><li>Overseeing development of preliminary and detailed engineering designs.
</li><li>Creating engineering specifications and controls sequences with support from Chief Engineer.
</li><li>Performing design quality control, monitoring progress, and notifying managers of scope changes.

You&rsquo;ll be a perfect fit if you have:
<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree from an accredited university in Mechanical Engineering.
</li><li>Professional Engineering Licensure or the ability to obtain a PE.
</li><li>LEED accreditation is preferred.
</li><li>Minimum 8 years of mechanical engineering design experience on relevant projects. Applicable design experience includes creating construction documents for HVAC air side, HVAC water side, plumbing, and fire protection systems, with significant expertise in at least two of these areas.
</li><li>Minimum of 3 years of applicable experience supporting engineering design projects within the Life Sciences industry.
</li><li>Minimum of 5 years of experience in preparing engineering calculations, such as heating and cooling load calculations, ventilation rate procedure, hydronic piping calculations, fire pump sizing, etc.
</li><li>Minimum 5 years of experience collaborating with vendors for major equipment selections, such as air handling units, chillers, cooling towers, heat exchangers, fire pumps, etc.
</li><li>Minimum 2 years of experience leading engineers and designers for creation of drawings and performing engineering calculations.
</li><li>Ability to perform field work that will include walking, kneeling, sitting, standing, climbing stairs and/or ladders.
</li><li>Willingness to travel to client sites.
</li><li>Willingness to work in the office at least two days per week.
</li><li>Willingness to mentor and train others.
</li><li>Willingness to work in a team environment.
</li><li>Ability to gather and organize information and documentation.
</li><li>Ability to multitask.
</li><li>Excellent verbal and written communication skills, a positive work attitude, and willingness to learn new skills.

Senior Mechanical Design Engineer - Life Sciences

As a Project Manager you will serve as the central driver for capital and maintenance projects, navigating them from initial concept through to final commissioning. This role functions as a technical and operational bridge, where you will manage multi-disciplinary engineering efforts, oversee vendor selections, and ensure high-level design compliance within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. By balancing budget oversight with hands-on coordination of stakeholders and contractors, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity and expansion of a premier food production facility.

Here&rsquo;s a glimpse into your day to day:
<ul><li>Oversight, coordination and execution of capital and maintenance projects from inception to turnover to user groups, including project scoping, preliminary and detailed design and review, CAPEX document development and approval, construction/installation, commissioning, startup and qualification.
</li><li>Design oversight and compliance with industry practices and guidelines.
</li><li>Management and successful execution of multiple projects using client procedures and industry best practices to the agreed upon scope, schedule, budget and technical quality.
</li><li>Coordinate all technical activities on assigned projects. Responsible for having an awareness of and ability to recognize technical problems.
</li><li>Oversight of design packages and specifications, RFPs, design review, vendor/contractor selection, constructability reviews, approval of submittals, and preparation and oversight of validation and regulatory submissions.
</li><li>Monitors project budgets and schedules for trends/compliance to budget and prepare periodic reports.
</li><li>Coordinate reviews and checking of engineering deliverables.
</li><li>Coordinate the efforts of engineering support groups and external resources such as vendors, consultants and contractors.
</li><li>Conduct project meetings and effective communications with user group and project stake holders.
</li><li>Prepare detailed project cost estimates and schedules
</li><li>Oversight of engineering calculations and analysis related to process design and equipment selections.
</li></ul>
 
You&rsquo;ll be a perfect fit if you have:
<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Engineering in mechanical, electrical, structural or similar disciplines.
</li><li>Minimum (10) yrs. experience as a Project Manager/Engineer within the industrial manufacturing market sectors including Food/Beverage, Chemical, Pharmaceutical, Power Generation, etc.
</li><li>Effective leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
</li><li>Basic knowledge of design and regulatory Codes and USDA Standards
</li><li>Proficient with Microsoft Office products
</li></ul>
 
Compensation and Benefits:
<ul><li>Pay: $125,000-140,000 annually (depending on experience)
