About the Role 
We&rsquo;re hiring Petroleum Service Technicians&mdash;from hands-on learners just starting out to seasoned techs ready to lead. Technicians test, maintain, repair refueling equipment and ensure regulatory compliance for underground and aboveground storage tank systems (USTs/ASTs). You&rsquo;ll work on fuel system equipment at gas stations, marinas, airports, and more, helping clients meet critical environmental regulations. Training provided. 
 
What You&rsquo;ll Do<ul><li>
Complete required training, including 40-hour HAZWOPER</li><li>
Perform compliance tests (spill bucket, vapor recovery, A/B Inspections, etc.)</li><li>
Troubleshoot and repair UST/AST equipment</li><li>
Submit reports and timecards using our digital system</li><li>
Communicate with clients and represent TAIT professionally</li><li>
Work independently and follow all safety protocols</li></ul>
Who We&rsquo;re Looking For 
Entry-Level<ul><li>
Comfortable traveling &amp; working independently</li><li>
Mechanical knowledge and experience with hand tools</li><li>
Dependable, detail-oriented and eager to learn</li><li>
Basic computer skills (email, Microsoft Office)</li></ul>
Experienced Techs<ul><li>
2-4+ years in petroleum, mechanical, or environmental services</li><li>
Valid/Current ICC UST/AST certification and Veeder Root Install/Removal certification</li><li>
Strong troubleshooting skills with UST/AST systems</li><li>
Familiar with industry regulations and reports</li><li>
Ready to lead projects or mentor others</li></ul>

Salary and Benefits 
Salary range for position: $20/hr. - $40/hr.

As we continue to grow our presence across California and beyond, we are seeking a driven, experienced individual to join our team as a Construction Superintendent / Fuel Construction Foreman. This hybrid position is key to overseeing and executing complex fuel system projects in the field while ensuring safety, quality, and client satisfaction. 
 
Position Description 
The Construction Superintendent/ Fuel Construction Foreman position includes but is not limited to performing construction duties as needed and supervising job site personnel and subcontractors to complete the scope of work assigned. The position will assist in coordinating construction projects in a manner that maximizes profitability to the company, surpasses the expectations of our clients, and ensures a quality product that meets or exceeds the industry standard. This position will provide services in an efficient and timely manner and conduct business in a safe, ethical, and professional manner. Additionally, this position will act as Job Site Safety Officer and implement internal company safety policies at the job site. Must be able to follow instructions and complete assigned jobs timely and safely. This position combines the leadership responsibilities of a Construction Superintendent with the technical field oversight of a Fuel Construction Foreman. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in petroleum construction and regulatory compliance, as well as the ability to lead field crews, coordinate subcontractors, and ensure that all aspects of the job site run efficiently, safely, and profitably.<div> 

Project Execution &amp; Oversight</div><ul><li>
Manage day-to-day operations at job sites, including direct oversight of crews and subcontractors.</li><li>
Participate in construction activities as needed to support the crew.</li><li>
Read and interpret design and construction plans; manage onsite layout and build execution.</li><li>
Provide daily photo documentation and reporting for each phase of construction.</li><li>
Monitor progress and communicate schedule impacts to Project or Construction Manager.</li><li>
Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant job site in accordance with internal policies and regulatory standards.</li><li>
Schedule and attend inspections; interface with inspectors and jurisdictional authorities.</li><li>
Order materials, coordinate equipment rentals, and verify all deliveries meet required specs.</li><li>
Submit project documentation including tailgate meetings, labor tracking, and safety logs.</li></ul>
Field Leadership &amp; Safety<ul><li>
Serve as the Job Site Safety Officer: lead daily safety meetings and implement hazard mitigation protocols.</li><li>
Ensure all team members and subcontractors adhere to safety standards and proper PPE requirements.</li><li>
Adjust plans as needed to respond to changing field conditions.</li><li>
Immediately report all incidents or accidents.</li><li>
Train, mentor, and provide feedback to field crew and junior staff.</li><li>
Maintain labor within project budget and communicate overtime needs for approval.</li></ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader">
Qualifications</h3>
Experience &amp; Certifications<ul><li>
3&ndash;5 years minimum experience in commercial petroleum system construction (fuel system installation, testing, repair, or removal).</li><li>
Current 24- or 40-Hour HAZWOPER preferred (current 8-hour refresher acceptable).</li><li>
Current ICC UST Install/Retrofit, UST Decommissioning, and Service Technician certifications preferred.</li><li>
Prior supervisory or leadership experience in the field required.</li><li>
Veeder-Root experience required.</li></ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader">
Skills &amp; Attributes</h3><ul><li>
Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills</li><li>
Proven ability to run a project efficiently, safely, and within budget</li><li>
Able to read blueprints, interpret machine diagnostic reports, and adapt to job-specific needs</li><li>
Microsoft Office proficiency (Outlook, Teams, Word, etc.)</li><li>
Able to work in dynamic environments and travel as needed</li><li>
Ability to lift 50lbs, work on uneven surfaces, climb ladders, bend, squat, and twist</li></ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader">
Other Requirements</h3><ul><li>
Valid CA Driver&rsquo;s License with clean MVR</li><li>
Criminal background check, physical, and drug screen required</li><li>
Company vehicle provided; must have secure home parking</li><li>
Out-of-town travel required (based on project location and duration)</li><li>
Must be able to tow and haul trailers and equipment to job sites</li></ul>
Physical Requirements<ul><li>
Ability to walk on job sites that may be dirt, cement, asphalt, uneven concrete, etc.
</li><li>Ability to climb ladders and stairs; kneel, squat, bend, stop, twist at waist &amp; neck, etc.</li><li>
Ability to speak clearly &amp; professionally to communicate with clients &amp; team members; Ability to stay organized and maintain good housekeeping practices.</li><li>
Ability to drive a vehicle to job sites and ability to drive extensive distances, occasionally up to 1000 miles per week; Ability to drive/haul trailer to and from job sites.</li><li>
Ability to read and interpret design plans; Ability to read and interpret machine diagnostic reports.</li></ul>
