We launched in January 2025 in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia and are live in production, processing real orders daily. The Opportunity</h2>
You&rsquo;ll help build and scale the backend that powers Take In: order orchestration, payments, real-time tracking, dispatch, and the services around them. This is a production role&mdash;shipping, improving reliability, and owning services end-to-end in a microservices architecture.<h2 class="jobSectionHeader">
What You&rsquo;ll Do</h2><ul><li>
Build and own NestJS (TypeScript) microservices across order, restaurant, and account domains</li><li>
Design event-driven workflows using Kafka (e.g., order-created, payment-successful)</li><li>
Ship real-time tracking features via Socket.IO</li><li>
Work across MySQL (Sequelize) and MongoDB (Mongoose)</li><li>
Own integrations and pipelines (Payments: Moyasar, Notifications: Firebase FCM, Twilio SMS)</li><li>
Improve reliability and performance during peak demand (weekends, Ramadan)</li><li>
Participate in production support and on-call rotations</li></ul><h2 class="jobSectionHeader">
What We&rsquo;re Looking For</h2><ul><li>
4+ years backend engineering experience in production environments</li><li>
Strong in Node.js + TypeScript</li><li>
Experience with microservices / distributed systems</li><li>
Hands-on with Kafka or RabbitMQ (event-driven systems)</li><li>
Strong database fundamentals: SQL (MySQL/PostgreSQL) + NoSQL (MongoDB)</li><li>
Comfortable with real-time patterns (WebSockets / Socket.IO) and REST APIs</li><li>
Experience with Docker, CI/CD, Git, and JWT authentication</li><li>
Strong debugging + testing mindset, clear communication in English</li></ul><h2 class="jobSectionHeader">
Bonus</h2><ul><li>
Payments experience in Saudi/regional ecosystem (Moyasar, Tap, HyperPay)</li><li>
Food delivery, logistics, or marketplace experience</li><li>
Arabic/English localization (i18n)</li></ul><h2 class="jobSectionHeader">
