Overview: 
The Senior IT COLI/BOLI Business Analyst will support our corporate owned or bank owned life insurance segment. The ideal candidate will partner with Software Engineers leading the IT application development efforts and serve as a key thought partner for system enhancement rollouts. Additionally, the Sr. Business Analyst will serve as a liaison between the business customer and the technical resources. Their focus will be on ensuring solution design achieves the COLI business objectives. The ideal candidate will work in a hybrid in-office arrangement out of our office location in Hartford, CT. Remote work arrangements will also be considered.
 
Responsibilities: 
<ul>
<li>Owns and oversees all aspects of requirement documentation including writing, reviewing, analyzing, and verifying requirements for completeness, consistency, comprehensibility, feasibility, and conformity to standards</li>
<li>Research, reviews, and analyzes the effectiveness and efficiency of existing requirements gathering processes and develops strategies for enhancing these processes</li>
<li>Responsible for documenting and driving the overall test strategy including review and signoff</li>
<li>Continuously drive improvements in analysts’ processes, tools, and techniques incorporating industry best practices</li>
<li>Enforces adherence to the Talcott software development lifecycle and security policies</li>
<li>Acts as mentor to coach and develop junior talent</li>
<li>Write business requirements for enhancements to existing applications</li>
<li>Perform system testing following an enhancement rollout</li>
<li>Offer pro-active issue resolution and creative solutions to navigate administrative challenges and system roadblocks</li>
</ul>
Qualifications: 
<ul>
<li>Minimum of 5 years of life insurance experience which will include at least 3 years of technical expertise</li>
<li>Candidates will COLI/BOLI experience is highly preferred</li>
<li>Bachelor’s Degree or relevant work experience (preferred degree majors include IT, engineering, mathematics and/or statistical analysis)</li>
<li>Strong working knowledge of the MS Office tools, experience with SQL or Java is a plus!</li>
<li>Experience with software testing tools (i.e. Beyond Compare) is a plus!</li>
<li>Ability to work independently and/or collaborate with cross-functional team members outside</li>
<li>Demonstrated business savvy with a strategic focus for problem solving</li>
<li>Effective communicator with outstanding interpersonal and organizational skills</li>
<li>Ability to establish and maintain productive business relationships across the organization</li>
<li>A self-starter with strong organizational and project management skills</li>
<li>Ability to handle a high volume of matters while balancing competing demands</li>
<li>Willingness to take initiative, lead projects and drive projects to through to completion</li>
<li>NOTE-This position may require 10% travel and a rotational “on-call after-hours work schedule” 1x monthly for the week in support production items.</li>

Overview: 
Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) operates as an independent second line of defense, responsible for maintaining and enforcing Talcott’s risk management framework across all subsidiaries. One of our key accountabilities is to monitor key exposures across market, credit, liquidity, and insurance risks. We produce actionable, data-driven risk insights This team is composed of actuaries, CFA charter holders, and risk professionals. The Enterprise Risk Management team partners closely with other business partners in Investment Management, Finance, and Actuarial functions. Our selected candidate will be responsible for end-to-end ownership of key ERM reporting and analytics, including ensuring data integrity, methodological consistency, and alignment with the firm’s risk framework. A Senior Risk Analyst will independently interpret risk exposures, offer clear insights to senior stakeholders and provide critical insights regarding enhancements of the ERM reporting processes.
 
Our Senior Risk Analyst position will offer the selected candidate exposure to Senior ERM Leadership such as the Head of Risk Reporting and the Chief Risk Officer. The ideal candidate will work on a hybrid in-office schedule at either our Hartford, CT office or our Charlotte, NC office.
 
Responsibilities: 
<ul>
<li>Own and produce core ERM reports across key risk areas, including mark-to-market exposure, issuer concentration limits, WARF metrics, hedge effectiveness, liquidity, and stress testing</li>
<li>Ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of reporting outputs while understanding data sources, methodologies, and key assumptions</li>
<li>Analyze, interpret, and explain changes in risk metrics</li>
<li>Identify emerging risks and potential limit breaches</li>
<li>Monitor portfolio exposures relative to risk appetite, limits, and investment guidelines</li>
<li>Support liquidity analysis, interpretation of cash flow projections and stress scenarios</li>
<li>Modify and extend reporting frameworks to incorporate new transactions (e.g., block and flow reinsurance deals)</li>
<li>Lead automation and process improvement initiatives to enhance scalability, efficiency, and control of ERM reporting</li>
<li>Serve as a key point of contact for cross-functional partners (Investment Management, Finance, Actuarial) on risk reporting and data-related topics</li>
<li>Review work produced by other analysts and provide guidance to ensure consistency and quality</li>
<li>Contribute to transaction reviews by assessing the impact of new strategies on risk metrics or reporting</li>
</ul>
Qualifications: 
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, finance, risk management, or a related quantitative field</li>
<li>Minimum of 4 years of experience in insurance, asset management or financial analytics</li>
<li>An ASA, FSA, or CFA designation is a plus</li>
<li>Proficiency in Excel, VBA, and SQL are required</li>
<li>Experience with Python, Power BI, or similar tools for automation and data visualization strongly preferred</li>
<li>Demonstrated ability to take ownership of processes and drive improvements independently</li>
<li>Experience providing project oversight or leading components of projects is a plus</li>
<li>Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex analysis into clear, actionable insights for senior stakeholders</li>
<li>Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deliverables</li>
<li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated experience working with complex datasets and reporting frameworks</li>
<li>Results-oriented with a demonstrated ability to work under tight deadlines in a high-performance environment.</li>

Compensation: 
This range represents the minimum and maximum annual base salary we reasonably expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. The actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range. The base pay is based on factors including but not limited to experience, competence, and demonstration of proficiencies essential for the role. The base pay is just one component of Talcott’s total annual compensation for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, long-term incentives and recognition.
