Professional medical specialty office is searching for a highly-motivated, energetic team player experienced in scheduling appointments for multiple providers, patient check-in and check-out, answering phones, insurance verification and coordinating schedules a plus. Must be a multi-tasker. Applicants must possess an excellent attendance record, outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, and a superb attitude towards patient service.General Summary of Duties: Greets patients and visitors with a smile and helpful attitude. Serves as a liaison between patients and medical staff. Understands the importance of a positive first impression since they are the first person the patient sees when they walk into our medical practice. Demonstrates excellent customer service skills when dealing with patients. Insurance verification knowledge preferred but not required.Typical Physical Demands: Work will require sitting, typing, and viewing a computer screen for long periods of time. Also stooping and bending and stretching for files and information. Require manual dexterity to operate a computer, calculator, telephone, copier, and other office equipment. Hearing must be in the normal range for telephone and face-to-face contacts.Typical Working Conditions: Majority of the work is performed in the front office. Involves frequent contact with patients. Work will involve contact with dealing with sick and/or injured people. Interaction with co-workers and patients is constant and interruptive.Job Skills:Operate a computer efficiently. Greet patients and answer the phone in a pleasant and helpful manner. Operate a copier and fax machine. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public. Able to communicate patients insurance benefits effectively.
