A DAY IN THE LIFE:
The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a field-based scientific expert responsible for engaging with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), healthcare professionals, and medical practices to deliver evidence-based insights about the company&rsquo;s products and the latest scientific advancements. The MSL plays a pivotal role in translating clinical research into practical, real-world applications, ensuring that scientific knowledge is effectively communicated and utilized. In this role, the MSL actively contributes to educational programs, gathers valuable real-time insights from healthcare professionals (HCPs), and provides critical support to both internal and external stakeholders. Key responsibilities include representing the company at regional and national conferences, facilitating compliant scientific exchange, and engaging in appropriate off-label discussions with scientific peers, all while ensuring adherence to regulatory standards. This position is integral in bridging the gap between scientific innovation and clinical practice, driving informed decision-making within the medical community.
MSLs at Tandem are also responsible for the following in a specific region:
This role will cover the Central Region with our field team;
Ohio Valley to Wisconsin down to Gulf Coast areas.<ul><li>
Develops and executes Medical Affairs education strategies for the Central Area, delivering scientific webinars, in-person presentations, and fostering peer-to-peer scientific exchange.</li><li>
Partners closely with area-level commercial division leaders to engage healthcare professionals (HCPs) with peer-to-peer medical information exchange, relationship-building, and identification of appropriate fit for educational programs.</li><li>
Arranges in person travel opportunities to deliver scientific presentations and develop relationships with HCPs.</li><li>
Responds to both on-label and off-label inquiries from medical professionals on appropriate and safe device use and training, including virtual or in-person HCP consultations.</li><li>
Supports medical-marketing initiatives, such as conference planning and support, medical education content development, faculty speaker training, and review of promotional and educational materials.</li><li>
Supports Market Access teams with clinical presentations on publications, and market trends to payers and regulatory bodies.</li><li>
Provides ad-hoc educational webinars, presentations, or content to internal teams to support corporate initiatives (including scientific information, new indications for use, disease management, and device use).</li><li>
Assists with set up and delivery of round tables with peer HCPs to elicit feedback.</li><li>
Translates complex medical messages to enable clear and concise understanding by both external audiences and internal stakeholders.</li></ul>
WHAT YOU&rsquo;LL NEED:<ul><li>
MS, PhD, DNP, MD/DO, PharmD or equivalent combination of education and applicable job experience.</li><li>
Clinical licensure (MD, RN, NP, etc.) preferred.</li><li>
Certified Diabetes Care and Educator Specialist (CDCES), Board Certified in Advanced Diabetes Management (BC-ADM) or similar, preferred.</li><li>
3+ years of clinical diabetes, diabetes technology, or insulin pump industry experience.</li><li>
Experience presenting or communicating scientific information to professional audiences.</li><li>
Deep knowledge of diabetes disease state and clinical management of type 1 and type 2 diabetes, standards of care, and diabetes technology use in diverse populations.</li><li>
Fundamental knowledge and/or experience with scientific and statistical analyses.</li><li>
Professional experience interacting with patients, referral sources, and health care professionals.</li><li>
Skilled at analytical problem solving and communicating with culturally diverse groups. Skilled in effective presentations of scientific data and materials.</li><li>
Demonstrated knowledge of US FDA medical device regulations.</li><li>
Understanding of international medical device regulations with specific knowledge of Canadian Medical Device Regulations and EU CE Mark may be relevant.</li><li>
Excellent technical writing, editing, and proofreading skills.</li><li>
Able and motivated to work independently and as a team member with many different departments.</li><li>
Able to make and prioritize process and resource decisions based on overall team needs.</li><li>
Ability to plan and execute clinical and regulatory preparation activities.</li><li>
Skilled with MS Office applications as well as Adobe Acrobat.</li></ul>
TRAVEL:
Ability to travel by car or airplane (as well as overnights) independently up to 50% of the time and work a varied schedule to meet customer needs. Current negative Tuberculosis Skin Test and annual Tuberculosis screening with documented proof are required.
WHEN &amp; WHERE YOU&rsquo;LL WORK:
Remote: This position is remote and in the field, open to candidates within the United States. Equipment for the role will be provided and training will occur virtually.
COMPENSATION &amp; BENEFITS:
The starting base pay range for this position is $136,000 - $160,000 annually. Base pay will vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience and may also fluctuate depending on candidate&rsquo;s location and the overall job market. In addition to base pay, Tandem offers a competitive compensation package that includes bonus and a robust benefits package.
Tandem offers health care benefits such as medical, dental, vision available your first day, as well as health savings accounts and flexible saving accounts. You&rsquo;ll also receive 11 paid holidays per year, a minimum of 20 days of paid time off (with accrual starting on day 1) and you will have access to a 401k plan with company match as well as an Employee Stock Purchase plan. A DAY IN THE LIFE:
The Sr. Project Manager manages the design and commercialization aspects of key products with responsibility for driving collaboration of cross-functional product commercial teams. Acts as the internal liaison between engineering, marketing, manufacturing, RA/QA, and product management for the purpose of scheduling projects, driving the timely launch of projects, budgeting resources, and reporting on the progress of several projects that are simultaneously being prepared for commercialization. Acts as a key facilitator in Tandem Product Commercialization Process including facilitation of corporate Phase Review Discipline meetings and progress tracking with the Tandem governance meetings. The Sr. Project Manager is also expected to lead or participate in product development continuous improvement projects led by the PMO.
The Sr. Project Manager at Tandem are also responsible for:
<ul><li>Provides project management expertise and leadership to a multi-functional core team from Concept through Commercialization following Tandem&rsquo;s standard process for product development and/or design change; ensures implementation and compliance to Design Control procedures and improvements of systems, procedures, and documentation when appropriate.</li><li>
Plans and directs all aspects of software/systems projects. Establishes project plans and objectives, develops project cost analysis, establishes, and manages the project schedule and budget, manages resources, tracks progress, and provides updates to management. Works closely with the Product Management, Program Managers, and functional heads to resolve resource allocation issues, conflicts, and priorities and to ensure projects are staffed appropriately, completed on time, and within budget constraints. Ensures efficient transfer of product from R&amp;D to manufacturing and external marketing.</li><li>
Leads/participates in process improvement initiatives related to product development, resource management and allocation, design controls, and other areas that impact cycle time, efficiencies, and compliance in medical device product development.</li><li>
Communicates and presents regular and timely project status updates to various levels of the organization including the executive management team.</li><li>
Ensures compliance with company policies, including Privacy/HIPAA, and other legal and regulatory requirements.</li></ul>
WHEN &amp; WHERE YOU&rsquo;LL WORK:
Hybrid: This role will be a mix of in-office work at our corporate headquarters in Del Mar, CA and remote work. This position is expected to be in office 1-2 days per week but may vary depending on business demands.

Excellent advocacy and persuasive skills.</li><li>
Experience with following a Product Roadmap.</li><li>
Ability to manage risks and determine appropriate level of escalation to the appropriate stakeholders. Ability to manage post-production launches and track key performance indicators.</li><li>
Proven ability to meet business goals and enhance customer value by facilitating frequent, high-quality releases.</li><li>
Knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, Business Intelligence, SaaS, preferred.</li><li>
Strong understanding of engineering principles, theories, and concepts, preferred.</li></ul>
EXTRA AWESOME:<ul><li>
Requires a bachelor&rsquo;s degree in engineering or equivalent training; or a combination of education and applicable experience.</li><li>
Certificate in Project Management (PMP) is desired. Alternatively, should be willing to pursue professional certification in the future.</li><li>
Scrum/ SAFe Certification and/or CSM (Certified Scrum Master) a plus.</li><li>
2 years&rsquo; experience managing projects; Software, Medical device industry, FDA-regulated, and ISO 14971 certified industry preferred.</li><li>
Experience in managing projects from inception to post-market sustaining using a phase-gate/agile methodology.</li><li>
Experience managing multiple projects at a time is a plus.</li><li>
Experience in managing projects focused on solutions for people with diabetes a plus.</li><li>
Knowledge and experience in web applications or Cloud software a plus.</li></ul>
