<div>Duties:<ul><li>
Conduct research to identify potential vendors, evaluate findings, and make independent decisions on procurement matters to reduce cost impact and improve delivery.</li><li>
Build and maintain long-term relationships with internal department, vendors and suppliers.</li><li>
Initiate RFQ and RFP as necessary and obtain comparative price quotes.</li><li>
Negotiate contracts and place purchase orders for all materials requirement at best prices and terms of purchase.</li><li>
Negotiate with vendors the handling of late deliveries of products and materials, shortages, rejected receipts, equipment deliveries, and contracting services.</li><li>
Interface with other departments to determine their purchasing needs or problems, including identifying costs for budgeting purposes and solutions to resolve problems.</li><li>
Review materials requirements, prepare purchase orders through the ERP system, verifying terms and specifications.</li><li>
Schedule deliveries on large or blanket purchase orders ensuring adequate inventory availability while reducing cash outlay.</li><li>
Maintain records of all transactions, vendor quotes, negotiations, contracts, purchase orders, receipts, and resolutions.</li><li>
Review vendor score card and identify alternate sources, as necessary.</li><li>
Authorize payments for settled discrepant deliveries.</li><li>
Serve as a backup in the department.</li><li>
Complete other duties as assigned.</li></ul> 
Skills and Knowledge<ul><li>
Experience working with ERP systems in a manufacturing environment.</li><li>
Knowledge of and background in MRP, supply chain, production management, and project engineering required.</li><li>
Excellent negotiation, interpersonal, and communication skills.</li><li>
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.</li><li>
Ability to work well under pressure and highly organized self-starter.</li><li>
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs.</li></ul></div>
