The Role: Tech Lead (Abu Dhabi, On-Site)</h1>
We&rsquo;re looking for a Tech Lead to join Tavily and establish our new office in Abu Dhabi. You&rsquo;ll lead a growing team of around 12 technical professionals and play a central role in building the foundation for Tavily&rsquo;s operations in the region.
This is a high-impact leadership role for someone with deep technical expertise and proven management experience who thrives in fast-paced, high-ownership environments.<h1 class="jobSectionHeader"> 
What You&rsquo;ll Do</h1><ul><li>
Lead and mentor a diverse technical team, ensuring excellence and collaboration</li><li>
Build processes and systems that enable the team to scale efficiently and deliver high-quality outcomes</li><li>
Stay hands-on with infrastructure and system architecture while guiding technical direction across the Abu Dhabi office</li><li>
Collaborate with leadership to align local priorities with Tavily&rsquo;s global strategy</li><li>
Drive best practices in system reliability, scalability, and performance</li><li>
Help shape the culture and growth of Tavily&rsquo;s new international office</li></ul><h1 class="jobSectionHeader"> 
What You Bring</h1><ul><li>
Proven expertise in backend and distributed systems (Python, APIs, AWS, Kubernetes/Argo), with a strong focus on building scalable and reliable infrastructure</li><li>
Hands-on experience designing and deploying AI agents or RAG workflows in production environments</li><li>
Deep understanding of retrieval strategies (dense, sparse, hybrid), context optimization, and methods to reduce hallucinations</li><li>
Familiarity with modern agent frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph, LlamaIndex, or equivalent in-house systems</li><li>
Demonstrated ability to design, own, and evolve complex system architectures</li><li>
Track record of mentoring and leading multidisciplinary technical teams, setting direction and driving execution</li><li>
Experience building and operating real-time, low-latency, large-scale systems</li><li>
Strong background with databases such as Snowflake, MongoDB, and Redis</li><li>
Practical experience with cloud-native architectures on AWS, from design to deployment</li><li>
Comfortable thriving in fast-paced, high-ownership startup environments</li></ul><h1 class="jobSectionHeader">
