</ul><div><b>POSITION SUMMARY:</b></div>
<div>Under direction of the Medical Director, provides medical services to pediatric patients in the health center.</div>
<div></div><div><b>ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</b></div>
<div><ul><li>Exams, diagnoses, and treats diseases and injuries of infants, children, adolescents and young adults birth to age 18.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Examines patients and determines need for x-ray examinations and clinical laboratory tests.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Interprets examinations findings and test results and implements pediatric treatment plans.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Prepares and reviews case histories and obtains data through interviews.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Supports health promotion and disease prevention activities to enable each child to reach full potential.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Monitors physical and psychosocial growth and development.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Conducts age-appropriate screening.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Provides advice and education for patients and parents regarding appropriate preparation for predictable developmental challenges.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Determines need for consultation and assists in medical care treatment provided at the direction of other specialists.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Ability to use electronic medical records to keep track of patient visits and information related to the physician/patient encounter.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Provides care consistent with the quality standards of the organization, Participates in peer review activities and works with administration to reduce risk and maintain patient safety.</li></ul>
<ul><li>Performs other duties as assigned.</li></ul>
</div><div><b>EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE</b>:</div>
<div>Board eligible/Board certified pediatrician:</div>
<ul><li>Knowledge of principles and practice of preventative medicine.</li>
<li>Knowledge of the state and federal laws pertaining to medicine and to community health centers.</li>
<li>Knowledge of structure and function of community health centers.</li>
<li>Skill in communicating effectively with patients and their families.</li>
<li>Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationship with other employees, patients and general public.</li>
</ul><div><b>EDUCATION AND/OR EQUIVALENT EXPERIENCE:</b></div>
<div></div><div>Graduation from a college or university accredited by the American Medical Association with a Doctor of Medicine degree or accredited by the American Osteopathic Association with a Doctor of Osteopathy degree. If medical education occurred at a foreign medical school, the applicant must possess a current Educational Council Foreign Medical Graduate (ECFMG) Certificate. Successful completion of an approved program of residency training in pediatrics.</div>
