POSITION OBJECTIVE</b></p>

The Mental Health Technician provides resident care and supervision in accordance with the prescribed treatment program. This involves a focus on group leadership and resident interactions.</p><br>

Shifts Available:</b></p>
<p>
Full-Time | AM | Shifts: 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM | Days: Monday - Friday, and every other weekend.</p>
<p>
Expected starting wage is $21.25. This position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement and is subject to union membership requirements upon hire. Telecare applies geographic differentials to its pay ranges. The pay range assigned to this role will be based on the geographic location from which the role is performed. Starting pay is commensurate with relevant experience above the minimum requirements.</p><br>

QUALIFICATIONS</b></p>
<p>
One year experience as a MHW, CNA or the equivalent is preferred. A college degree may be accepted in lieu of years of experience. Completion of the facility training programs for this classification is required. Necessary skills include knowledge of psychology or sociology, knowledge of the care of the mentally ill and the ability to interact with nursing personnel, other members of the health care team, families, clients and visitors. The incumbent must be proficient in reading, speaking and writing English. In sole judgment of management demonstrates ability to perform at a consistently high level as an MHW. Has demonstrated the ability to carry out the duties of a Mental Health Worker in a thorough and professional manner. Has also demonstrated previous leadership, interest and enthusiasm for the role of a Mental Health Worker. Applicant must be finger printed and receive clearance from Criminal Justice Department.</p><br>

<li>Provide appropriate interventions in crisis situations</li>
<li>On a rotating basis perform officer of the day functions for both wellness, duty and Stand by Duty tasks</li>
<li>Collect required data and complete required documentation</li>
<li>Coordinate transitions to lower levels of care</li>
<li>Maintain awareness of community resources and assist members served in appropriate use of community resources</li>
<li>Assist members served with all needs, including Activities of Daily Living</li>
<li>Assist members served in making and getting to essential appointments</li>
<li>Assist and advocate for members served in obtaining appropriate benefits; provide representative payee services</li>
<li>Ensure that members served understand their legal status and rights</li>
<li>Help members served achieve greater independence and autonomy</li>
<li>Safeguard confidentiality; adhere to HIPAA policies</li>
<li>Provide transportation when needed and appropriate; provide linkage to community resources</li>
<li>If employed at Inpatient program, must assist with restraint of members served in the event of assaultive behavior and

<li>If employed at Outpatient program, must evade members served in the event of assaultive behavior and pass assault
