What You&rsquo;ll Do 
 
 
 
This role as Java/Microservices Software Engineer is key to the success of the Financial Technology group at Telstra and will be responsible and accountable for the following:
 
 
Design/Build applications using Microservice architecture with Java Spring boot.
 
 
Manage the development lifecycle to ensure the delivery of highly secure solutions that are optimized for performance and built to scale
 
 
Critical thinking mindset, strong sense of accountability for product delivery, passion to develop quality software.
 
 
Monitor process of software configuration/development/testing to assure quality deliverable.
 
 
Develop own and peer&rsquo;s skills and be a mentor to junior peers, to build T-shaped team. 
 
 
 
About You
 
 
Must have
 
 
Degree level IT qualifications in Software or Systems Engineering.
 
 
5-8 years&rsquo; hands on experience in developing spring boot applications, in-depth knowledge of microservices architecture
 
 
Strong hands-on experience in development and testing using microservice/lightweight containers &amp; frameworks such as Spring Boot
 
 
Programming languages: Java 17+ (Strong) / JavaScript
 
 
Knowledge of design patterns
 
 
Understands CI/CD process and has experience with at least 1 build server (e.g. Bamboo, Gitlab ci, Jenkins etc)
 
 
Understands version control and various branching strategies (what are the issues/benefits following branching strategies)
 
 
Experience with SQL and NoSQL DBs 
 
 
 
 
Desirable:
 
 
Experience in AWS: serverless computing (Lambda, Step Functions, Glue), RDS, DynamoDB, S3, SQS, SNS, Kinesis
 
 
Programming languages: Python, JavaScript/Nodejs
 
 
APIGEE or Nginx or similar API gateway experience
 
 
Observability tools - New Rrelic, Splunk, Datadog, ELK stack etc
 
 
Understanding of change management principles and experience in production support
 
 
Experience in performance testing using JMeter or other similar tools
 
 
Excellent communication, documentation and presentation skills

Key Responsibilities:
As a Sales Team Manager, you combine your vast sales experience and excellent people leadership skills with a passion for developing customer relationships to deliver the following responsibilities:

<ul><li>Monitor, evaluate and report on the performance of sales across portfolio/segment, identifying and acting on risks/barriers to the achievement of outcomes (daily call volumes, pipeline cadence, targets, service and sales escalations) across the sales team, including resolving service and sales escalations.

</li></ul><ul><li>Good understanding of global content transport and value-added services, experience with international affiliates and global markets
</li></ul><ul><li>Highly successful in consultative selling and customer solution selling skills with the ability and desire to coach team members in this field
