Medical Office Support Medical Office Support Staff Job DescriptionClassification: Non-exemptReports to: Office ManagerJob Description Summary/ Objective: The Medical Office Support Staff is responsible for all front desk requests.Essential Functions: Administrative Duties:<ul><li>Using computer applications (EHR, Microsoft Office, and Internet)</li><li>Scheduling and confirming patient appointments</li><li>Greeting visitors and determining the purpose of the visit and directing them appropriately</li><li>Answering telephones and transferring calls to the appropriate staff members</li><li>Understanding health insurance policies</li><li>Ability to collect co-pays/form fees etc.</li><li>Perform basic direct referrals</li></ul>Competencies: <ul><li>Verbal communication</li><li>Critical thinking</li><li>Organization and time management</li><li>Professionalism</li><li>Customer focus</li><li>Teamwork</li><li>Attention to detail</li></ul>Work Environment: Physical Demands:<ul><li>May be required to lift or move up to 15lbs</li><li>Use of their hands to handle, control or feel objects, tools or controls</li></ul>Position Type/Expected Work Hours:This is a full time position, working 40 hours per week.
