Position Summary
 
This position is primarily responsible for teaching in the Associate Degree Registered Nursing Program. Under the supervision of the Program Director, the primary responsibility of this full-time faculty position is to provide quality instruction and supervision of student learning while maintaining a positive learning environment in the classroom. Teaching responsibilities include classroom and clinical instruction. The faculty responds to students in a timely manner and communicates with the discipline and division via college-provided tools and resources
 
This is a 9-month nursing faculty position.
 
Prepares instructional materials such as lectures, presentations, lab sessions, clinical and cooperative arrangements
 Uses various learning assessments to evaluate student mastery of course and program outcomes
 Provides feedback on student's progress, in a timely manner, to facilitate academic success
 Prepares and submits required documentation including course syllabi, student attendance, final course grades and other information as requested or required by the college
 Disseminates current information pertaining to services available to students throughout the college
 Maintains professional development/growth according to personal needs and requirements for certification
 Participates in appropriate committees and task forces as assigned; may be assigned duties as an academic advisor; faculty advisor to a student club or organization; work in the Simulation Nursing Center; and/or mentoring other faculty
 Performs other job-related duties and projects as assigned in support of the College's mission, core values and goals

</ul>
1. Develop clinical practice objectives in order to identify clinical practice skills to be mastered using textbooks, agency procedures manuals and job descriptions, course syllabi and accreditation criteria.
 
Select and evaluate clinical facilities in order to provide the optimum learning environment for students using course objectives and a knowledge of available clinical opportunities.
 Identify clinical practice experiences and client assignments in affiliating clinical agencies in order to provide student with the optimum environment and opportunities to master (practice) clinical skills (competencies) using equipment and supplies in the campus practice laboratory and client kardex, charts and other medical records in clinical agencies.
 Provide one-to-one supervision of student clinical practice performance in order to evaluate student mastery of clinical practice objectives and provide for the safety of all assigned clients using available clinical resources and clinical expertise.
 Plan and conduct pre- and post-clinical conferences in order to facilitate the clinical learning using group discussions, individual student presentations and guest presenters.
 Grade nursing care plans and other written assignments in order to determine the ability of the student to apply theoretical knowledge to the client care setting using written nursing care plan, grading criteria and clinical practice guides.
 Maintain records for clinical students in order to comply with clinical agency requirements and protest the student, clinical agencies and the public using a variety of information sheets and forms.
 Document student clinical practice performance in order to provide a record of student progress or lack of progress towards mastery of required skills using course objectives, clinical evaluation forms, student counseling form and individual conferences.
 
Demonstrate teaching excellence by using evidence-based instructional practices that foster student learning.

<li>Minimum Qualifications:</li>
</ul>
Master’s degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning OR, Bachelor’s degree in Nursing with completion of M.S.N degree within three years of employment.
 
RN holds a current unrestricted license to practice as a registered nurse in Tennessee. Must have two (2) calendar years of full-time clinical experience as a registered nurse.

Title: Writing Center Advanced Tutor (Part-time, Temporary)

Schedule: 15 hours a week during the spring, summer, and fall academic semesters
 
Job Summary
 
Reporting to the Dean of Humanities, the Writing Center Advanced Tutor is responsible for tutoring students on an appointment and walk-in basis. The Advanced Tutor is responsible for general office administration of the Writing Center that may include schedule and calendar maintenance, training of work study students, and general on-campus marketing.
 
Job Duties
 
<ul>
<li>Conduct one-on-one tutoring sessions.</li>
<li>Assist students with building their writing skills.</li>
<li>Schedule tutoring appointments as requested.</li>
<li>Answer phone and email inquiries from students and faculty regarding the Writing Center.</li>
<li>Assist the Writing Center Administrator with maintaining office records, scheduling, internal marketing, promotion, and outreach.</li>
<li>Conduct writing workshops for classes as requested.</li>
<li>Maintain budget records for the Writing Center.</li>
<li>Participate in training.</li>
<li>Complete other assignments as directed by supervision.</li>
</ul>
Minimum Qualifications

Position Summary
 
Under the supervision of the Department Head and/or Lead Faculty, Adjunct Faculty have as their primary duty the instruction of assigned college-level and/or learning support classes. Adjunct faculty may teach classes scheduled during the day or evening, delivered in a variety of formats, and offered at multiple locations, including off-campus sites and local high schools.
 
Responsibilities include: 
Conducting classes using appropriate instructional practices
 Maintaining accurate records of attendance
 Evaluating student performance on assignments
 Monitoring and communicating progress to students and appropriate college personnel
 Assigning midterm and final grades
 Completing required training
 Performing other duties as assigned

POSITION SUMMARY
