Designer &ndash; Women&rsquo;s Underwear Part-time, Contract | Portland-based | Women-Owned Apparel CompanyPortland-based, women-owned apparel business seeks a versatile Designer to support our growing undergarment lines.You&rsquo;ll stay on top of current color and fashion trends, developing silhouettes and styles that resonate with our customers and uphold the high-quality standards we&rsquo;re known for. Our company has two branded lines and creates private label collections for retailers, giving you valuable experience designing for both brick-and-mortar and online markets with each customer&rsquo;s brand DNA in mind.This is a part-time, contract position with flexible hours&mdash;you&rsquo;ll primarily work from home on your own schedule., with the exception of technical design requirements.Essential Functions<ul><li>Develop seasonal color palettes, silhouettes, and prints at competitive price points</li><li>Create accurate CADs and detailed specs for factory communication and buyer presentations</li><li>Build and maintain complete tech packs for each style selected</li><li>Conduct market and trend research to support on-brand product development</li><li>Manage and track lab dips, strike-offs, and bulk color approvals</li><li>Review, comment, and approve fit samples, PP samples, and TOPs, ensuring quality and construction standards are met</li><li>Communicate clearly with factories and vendors regarding spec updates, materials, trims, and construction details</li><li>Source new fabrics, laces, and trims as needed</li><li>Update and refresh existing styles, prints, and assortments in line with trend direction</li></ul>Requirements<ul><li>Bachelor&rsquo;s degree in Apparel Design or related field (equivalent industry experience will be considered)</li><li>Proficiency in CAD drafting</li><li>Ability to clearly explain design intent, incorporate feedback, and collaborate across teams</li><li>Strong understanding of fabric, lace, trims, garment construction, fit, and technical specifications</li><li>Working knowledge of the apparel product development cycle, from concept to production</li><li>Keen understanding of undergarment trends across a range of ages and aesthetics</li><li>Experience with textile or graphic print design preferred, but not required</li></ul>This is a contract position with an hourly rate of $35&ndash;$50/hour, depending on experience and skill set.Job Types: Part-time, ContractPay: $35.00 - $50.00 per hourExpected hours: 10 &ndash; 15 per weekEducation:<ul><li>Bachelor's (Preferred)</li></ul>Experience:<ul><li>design: 2 years (Preferred)</li></ul>Work Location: Hybrid remote in Portland, OR 97230
