JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced Corporate Attorney to join our legal team as a versatile legal advisor supporting all aspects of our growing multi-state cannabis operations. This role will provide comprehensive legal guidance across multiple business functions including commercial transactions, marketing compliance, vendor relationships, labor &amp; employment matters, and risk management. The ideal candidate will bring broad legal expertise, in-house experience, strong business acumen, and the ability to navigate the complex regulatory environment of the cannabis industry while adapting to diverse legal challenges.

RESPONSIBILITIES

General Corporate Legal Work
<ul>
<li>Provide day-to-day legal advice to various business departments including operations, marketing, sales, and executive leadership</li>
<li>Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of commercial agreements including vendor contracts, service agreements, and business partnerships</li>
<li>Manage resolution of vendor contract disputes and other commercial matters</li>
<li>Support litigation management and oversee outside counsel relationships</li>
<li>Assist with investor relations and corporate governance matters</li>
<li>Advise marketing department on promotional models, terms and conditions, and compliance with cannabis advertising regulations</li>
<li>Support business development initiatives and new market entry strategies</li>
</ul>
Labor and Employment Law
<ul>
<li>Collaborate with the People Experience department on employment-related legal matters</li>
<li>Ensure employment policies and employee handbooks remain current and compliant with state and federal regulations</li>
<li>Provide guidance on hiring, termination, and disciplinary processes</li>
<li>Handle EEOC, NLRB, and other relevant state and federal agency matters</li>
<li>Advise on workplace accommodations and leave management</li>
</ul>
Risk Management
<ul>
<li>Collaborate with finance, contract specialist, property management, and/or People Experience departments on insurance matters</li>
<li>Provide legal input on risk mitigation strategies across the business</li>
<li>Assist with insurance claims when legal expertise is required</li>
<li>Support compliance initiatives to minimize operational and regulatory risks</li>
<li>Identify emerging legal risks in the cannabis industry and develop mitigation strategies</li>
</ul>
QUALIFICATIONS
<ul><li>JD from an accredited law school and active bar membership</li>
<li>5+ years of relevant legal experience, with at least 3 years in-house</li>
<li>Experience in multiple areas of business law including contracts, commercial transactions, and corporate governance</li>
<li>Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills</li>
<li>Excellent communication abilities and business judgment</li>
<li>Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment</li>
<li>Cannabis industry experience preferred but not required</li>
<li>Experience with regulated industries a plus</li>
</ul>

JOB SUMMARY

We're seeking a dynamic and collaborative HR Business Partner (HRBP) with 3&ndash;5 years of experience to join our growing People Experience team. In this role, you will partner closely with retail leaders to align HR strategies with business objectives, drive employee engagement, and support a culture of growth and accountability. This position is ideal for a hands-on HR professional who thrives in fast-paced retail environments and enjoys balancing strategic initiatives with day-to-day employee relations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategic Partnership
<ul>
<li>Act as a trusted advisor to retail leadership by providing guidance on workforce planning, employee engagement, and retention strategies.</li>
<li>Partner with business leaders to identify HR priorities aligned with company objectives.</li>
<li>Support organizational change and ensure smooth implementation of new policies and processes.</li>
</ul>
Employee Relations &amp; Performance Management
<ul>
<li>Lead investigations and resolve employee relations issues in compliance with labor laws and company policies.</li>
<li>Coach retail leaders on effective performance management practices, including feedback delivery, corrective actions, and progressive discipline.</li>
<li>Partner with managers to drive a culture of accountability and transparency.</li>
</ul>
Talent Development &amp; Engagement
<ul>
<li>Collaborate with Learning &amp; Development to identify training needs for retail employees and managers.</li>
<li>Support onboarding, career development, and succession planning for key retail roles.</li>
<li>Help implement employee engagement initiatives and act on survey results to improve team morale.</li>
</ul>
Compliance &amp; Risk Management
<ul>
<li>Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.</li>
<li>Maintain accurate employee records and ensure proper documentation for employee relations matters.</li>
<li>Partner with HR leadership to manage risk, including workplace safety and compliance audits.</li>
</ul>
HR Operations &amp; Reporting
<ul>
<li>Analyze workforce data, turnover trends, and engagement metrics to provide insights and recommendations.</li>
<li>Partner with Payroll &amp; Benefits teams to address employee inquiries and resolve escalations.</li>
<li>Support HR projects, process improvements, and technology initiatives to enhance employee experience.</li>
</ul>
QUALIFICATIONS
<ul>
<li>3&ndash;5 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in the retail or multi-location industry.</li>
<li>Solid understanding of HR practices, employee relations, and labor compliance.</li>
<li>Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with business leaders and employees.</li>
<li>Strong problem-solving, coaching, and conflict resolution skills.</li>
<li>Excellent written and verbal communication skills.</li>
<li>Proficiency with HRIS and ATS systems.</li>
</ul>
Preferred:
<ul>
<li>Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.</li>
<li>PHR, SHRM-CP, or working toward certification.</li>
<li>Labor Relations Experience</li>
<li>Experience in a fast-paced, high-volume retail environment supporting multi-site operations.</li>
