Understand key user personas, customers &amp; stakeholders and their pain points</p></li><li><p>
Prioritise features and improvements that reduce friction and restore services faster</p></li><li><p>
Produce and drive a strategy and roadmap that provides valuable incremental wins to Tesco</p></li><li><p>

You will need</b><div><ul><li><p><b><br>
Product Management Expertise</b>: Proven experience owning product strategy, discovery, delivery, and rollout&mdash;ideally in technical or developer-facing domains.</p></li><li><p><b>
Customer-Centric Mindset</b>: Ability to deeply understand user needs, especially those of developers and SREs, and translate them into impactful solutions.</p></li><li><p><b>
Strategic Thinking</b>: Comfortable navigating ambiguity, setting direction, and aligning stakeholders around a clear product vision.</p></li><li><p><b>
Execution Excellence</b>: Skilled in managing backlogs, writing clear requirements, and collaborating with engineering and design to ship high-quality products.</p></li><li><p><b>
Data-Informed Decision Making</b>: Experience using qualitative and quantitative insights to assess value, measure impact, and iterate effectively.</p></li><li><p><b>
Strong Communication</b>: Able to engage and influence across levels&mdash;from engineers to senior leadership&mdash;with clarity and empathy.</p></li><li><p><b>
Technical Fluency</b>: Familiarity with incident management concepts, developer tooling, or infrastructure domains is a strong plus.</p></li></ul></div>

We&rsquo;re looking for a Software Development Engineer II to join our collaborative, self-organising team. You&rsquo;ll contribute to the design and development of high-performance event-driven services that enable personalised customer experiences to millions of users by capturing user behavioural data. This is an excellent opportunity to grow your backend engineering skills, gain hands-on experience with modern technologies, and contribute to real-world systems that operate at scale.</p></div><b><br>
You will be responsible for</b><div><ul><li><br>
 Developing features for a backend event-driven platform using Java and Spring Boot</li><li> Pairing with more senior engineers to design, implement, test, and ship code</li><li> Learning to use observability tools like New Relic and Splunk to monitor live systems</li><li> Participating in planning sessions and team discussions to understand requirements and contribute ideas</li><li> Writing automated test suites to ensure code correctness and maintainability</li><li> Collaborating with team members to review code and improve development practices</li><li> Developing an understanding of distributed systems, data processing at scale, and performance optimisation</li><li> Creating, maintaining, and deploying applications using CI/CD pipelines</li><li> Gaining hands-on experience with Kafka, Kubernetes, and managing distributed services</li></ul></div><b><br>
