Hughes Unit (Max Security Unit) currently has openings for Correctional Officers.Correctional Officer 3 Eligibility CriteriaIf you meet the eligibility criteria and are ready for a challenge, willing to learn, and prepared to work as a team member in a structured environment, we encourage you to consider employment as a TDCJ Correctional Officer with over 13 months of service.. A veteran who has completed at least two years active military service and been discharged under honorable conditions, or an applicant who has earned an associate's or bachelor's degree from an accredited college will start as a Correctional Officer 3, pay level 4, $4704.60per month. ($4875.74 Max. security Unit) Regular promotions within the career path continue, progressing to $5256.02 ($5413.71 Max. security Unit) at 73 months of TDCJ service.&middot; You must be a U.S. citizen or an immigrant with lawful status, who is authorized to work in the U.S.&middot; You must be at least 18 years old.&middot; You must possess a High School Diploma from an accredited senior high school or equivalent, or a state or military-issued General Education Development (GED) certificate.
