Job Summary
The Dirt Superintendent is responsible for meeting production goals by effectively managing crew, equipment, and maintaining Gulf Coast safety standards. Determines personnel needs and assigns work to meet established production and schedule requirements. Supervises, coordinates, and reviews the work of assigned staff. Complies with and enforces company policies and procedures. 
 
 Essential Functions<ul><li>
Manage and direct crew to meet production goals.</li><li>
Read and interpret blueprints and project specifications.</li><li>
Understands daily production costs and production cost reports.</li><li>
Track material quantities and resolve discrepancies with orders.</li><li>
Interact with owners, clients, managers, subcontractors, and employees and maintain a positive working relationship.</li><li>
Execute work plan by effectively managing crew and equipment.</li><li>
Manage daily timekeeping logs, equipment logs, as well as complete daily reports and daily diaries.</li><li>
Mentor, educate, and train crew on safety, tool usage, construction methods, production goals, and equipment maintenance.</li><li>
Use positive reinforcement as a form of discipline as well as to educate, train, enforce company policies, and meet production goals.</li><li>
Ensure operation is safe and use disciplinary actions as needed to always maintain safety.</li><li>
Report injuries and damages to appropriate personnel. Keep track of assets and take steps to limit vandalism.</li><li>
Ensure good housekeeping through use of toolbox talks, safety meetings, etc.</li><li>
Planning daily and weekly activities of crew, accurately reporting progress and production, and provide updated schedules.</li><li>
Comply with all Gulf Coast safety policies and guidelines.</li><li>
Effective earthwork equipment utilization.</li><li>
Recruits, interviews, and hires qualified applicants for available positions. Involved in all other personnel actions.</li><li>
Climb up and down ladders and scaffolding to gain access to excavations in order to supervise crew.</li><li>
Miscellaneous / Other duties as required.</li></ul>
Required Skills &amp; Experience<ul><li>
5+ years of current Foreman experience on heavy highway, road, and/or bridge projects.</li><li>
Experience with surveying, shooting grades, ordering materials and scheduling</li><li>
Knowledge of rigging, load charts, and soil mechanics.</li><li>
Survey knowledge and exposure to technical survey systems such as GPS and robotics.</li><li>
Earthwork equipment operation knowledge and the ability to train employees.</li><li>
Cement and lime stabilization knowledge and experience.</li><li>
Must be capable and licensed to drive a company pick-up or similar vehicle to work sites, offices, and other locations as required to perform job duties.</li><li>
Must be physically able to walk on uneven surfaces throughout the construction site and be able to stand and walk multiple hours a day.</li><li>
Must be able to prioritize, problem solve and have organizational skills; detail-oriented.</li><li>
Bilingual (Spanish) is preferred.</li><li>
Strong verbal and written communication skills.</li><li>
Dependable, self-motivated and task-oriented.</li></ul>

Position Overview
The superintendent position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the facility including the following, but not limited to: communication with truck drivers; and handling the aspects related to concrete crew.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)<ul><li>
Maintain a safe work environment for themselves and co-workers.</li><li>
Follow all company policies and all OSHA/MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment.</li><li>
Ensure daily maintenance is completed and schedule appointments for any major repairs.</li><li>
Report any problems to the Safety Manager, or Human Resources Manager.</li><li>
Manage personnel as well as schedule and monitor time worked.</li><li>
Train employees on proper operations, servicing, and minor repair of equipment.</li><li>
Perform general laboring duties when necessary.</li><li>
Regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is required.</li><li>
Other duties as may be assigned.</li></ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader">
Qualifications</h3>
Education/Experience<ul><li>
Minimum of a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred.</li><li>
Minimum of five years of related experience</li><li>
Must be able to read and interpret construction plans</li></ul> 
Work Requirements<ul><li>
Must be 18 years in age or older.</li><li>
Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check.</li><li>
Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.</li><li>
Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.</li><li>
Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.</li><li>
Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.</li><li>
Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and/or MSHA. Protective equipment that may be required, but not limited to, for this position is: Face Shield, Safety (hard toe) Shoes, and Coveralls.</li><li>
Compliance with all OSHA and/or MSHA regulations.</li></ul> 
Knowledge/Skill Requirements<ul><li>
Knowledge of materials, methods, and tools involved in plant maintenance.</li><li>
Ability to read, write and do basic mathematical calculations.</li><li>
Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.</li><li>
Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.</li><li>
Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely.</li><li>
Ability to work well and efficiently with others.</li></ul>

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
Texas Materials is looking for a Dispatch Manager to join our team in the Austin, TX area. The Dispatch Manager reports to the Transportation Manager and is a key part of the Texas Materials Ready Mix management team. This position is responsible for taking ownership of all activities and decisions that influence customer service and dispatch. The position's objectives are to ensure that customers are serviced properly, delivery is scheduled efficiently, and department goals are achieved. A key aspect of the role is managing, leading, and empowering the dispatch team members.<ul><li> 
Ensure a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures.</li><li>Properly follow all company policies and OSHA/MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment.</li><li>Manage and train Customer Service Representatives / Dispatcher team members.</li><li>Set performance metrics and goals for team members and conduct employee reviews regularly to keep track of progress.</li><li>Directs work of all employees involved in the daily operations of a Ready Mix dispatch office.</li><li>Coordinate with VP/GM, Transportation Manager, sales team, QC, and operations to understand expectations for each job/project.</li><li>Coordinate deliveries with company truck drivers &amp; hire hauler fleet to ensure timely customer deliveries.</li><li>Build rapport with customers and establish good working relationships.</li><li>Make every effort to accommodate customer requests and negotiate acceptable delivery times without losing orders.</li><li>Monitor orders and scheduling during the day and make adjustments as necessary to maintain customer service and best utilize fleet.</li><li>Plan effective delivery routes and assign haulers &amp; drivers for scheduled deliveries.</li><li>Prepare invoices, delivery tickets and related shipping documents.</li><li>Process plant production and received good tickets.</li><li>Regular and predictable attendance at assigned times is required.</li><li>Regular availability to support team for overnight and weekends</li><li>Other duties may be assigned.</li></ul> 
Qualifications
Education/Experience<ul><li>High school diploma or GED, or equivalent experience in related function</li><li>5 years of experience in the materials delivery business with a working knowledge of delivery and plant equipment</li><li>5 plus years of experience in customer service and dispatch, preferably in a fast-paced, high-volume operation of 600k cubic yards or more per year.</li></ul> 
Work Requirements<ul><li>Must be 18 years in age or older.</li><li>Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check.</li><li>Have a valid Driver&rsquo;s License and an acceptable driving record.</li><li>Be proactive, self-motivated, self-starter who is action-oriented and drives for results.</li><li>Foster a collaborative, professional, courteous attitude and team-based approach.</li><li>Highly ethical.</li><li>Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.</li><li>Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.</li><li>Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required (up to 25%).</li><li>Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.</li><li>Must have the ability to work without close supervision.</li></ul>
