GENERAL</b><b> </b><b>DESCRIPTION</b></p><p>
Performs moderately complex (journey-level) business analysis work. Work involves gathering, developing, and documenting user requirements; reviewing, assessing, and developing business processes; creating and validating user acceptance testing; performing post-implementation support of systems; communicating with external and internal customers in a timely manner; data management with statistical reporting; and providing research and special project support for the enforcement departments (investigations, litigation and compliance) of the Texas Medical Board. Works under general supervision from the Deputy Executive Director - Operations with some latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.</p><div></div><h1 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
PRINCIPAL</b><b> </b><b>JOB</b><b> </b><b>DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES</b></h1><p><b>
50%</b><b> </b>Serves as the IT liaison to systems analysis and support by representing the enforcement departments, to facilitate analysis, design, configuration, testing, and policy implementation within all systems.</p><ul><li>
Document computer programs &ndash; including develop and review complex system documents and business processes and workflow to convey business requirements and support efficient system design; and develop and document system diagrams including block diagrams, logic flowcharts, and help files.</li><li>
Gather user requirements, procedures, and problems relating to new or required enhancements to applications and present data to developers to assist in software decision making.</li><li>
Analyzes program policies and procedures to determine their effect on automated systems and system functional areas. May conduct gap analysis to identify opportunities for automation and efficiency.</li><li>
Tests software systems and/or applications to determine if functional requirements are met.</li><li>
 Assist users of system applications and software.</li></ul><p><b>
20%</b><b> </b>Maintains SQL Case Activity Codes and Form Letters</p><ul><li><p>
Complete regular review (at least quarterly) of SQL coding and correspondence and make necessary updates to improve reporting and tracking and completes quality assurance checks as needed.</p></li><li><p>
Coordinates with IT where necessary to update SQL coding and create templates for and track new form letters or to help update existing form letters.</p></li><li><p>
May perform data validation and quality assurance checks to ensure data integrity and may generate reports to monitor enforcement activities</p></li></ul><p></p><p><b><br>

Develops documentation for SharePoint and Laserfiche, including naming conventions and file structure &ndash; including desk aids, reference documents and training materials.</p></li><li><p>
Assists with retention &ndash; including identifying duplicates for destruction and coordinating with agency record retention staff to destroy records per retention policy.</p></li><li><p>
Tests software systems and/or applications to determine if functional requirements are met.</p></li><li><p>

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION</b></div><p>
Experience in project management, training, and systems analysis. Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in business administration, computer science, and management, information systems, or a related field, is generally preferred. Education and experience may be substituted for one another.</p><p></p><div><b><br>

1. At least one (1) year work experience in a business analysis role performing tasks similar to.</div><div>
a. Analyzing and interpreting technical information, including regulations, policies, and automation system documentation/specifications.</div><div>
b. Translating user/business needs into technical documentation.</div><div>
c. Communicating technical instructions to system users; or</div><div>

The principal job is performed in a standard office and requires:</p><ul><li> Reliable and secure high speed internet access with a minimum of 20 MBPS download and 2 MBPS upload.
