Are you a skilled Surgical Assistant who thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment and loves delivering exceptional patient care? Kentucky Center for Oral &amp; Maxillofacial Surgery is looking for a compassionate, detail-oriented professional to join our Hamburg office in Lexington.In this role, you&rsquo;ll work closely with our Oral Surgeons to support surgical procedures, guide patients through pre- and post-op care, and help create a high-touch, &ldquo;white glove&rdquo; patient experience from start to finish.What You&rsquo;ll DoAs a Surgical Assistant, you&rsquo;ll play an essential role in both clinical excellence and patient comfort by:<ul><li>Preparing patients for consultations and surgical procedures</li><li>Assisting Oral Surgeons chairside during surgery and related clinical procedures</li><li>Helping patients feel informed, comfortable, and confident in their treatment plan</li><li>Taking radiographs and CT scans efficiently and accurately</li><li>Sterilizing and disinfecting instruments and equipment in accordance with state infection control guidelines</li><li>Cleaning and preparing operatories to support safe, efficient patient care</li><li>Setting up trays and maintaining supply levels in each operatory</li><li>Providing pre- and post-operative instructions as directed by the oral surgeon</li><li>Recording patient charting and surgeon notes in the digital patient chart</li><li>Maintaining compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and all applicable regulations and best practices</li><li>Supporting sedation processes, IV supplies, patient histories, and post-op care as needed</li><li>Recording drugs and vitals before and after surgery</li><li>Escorting or wheeling sedated patients out after surgery</li><li>Assisting front office staff when needed</li><li>Helping track implant and surgical supplies</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Experience in dental and/or oral surgery preferred</li><li>Strong customer service skills with a patient-centered approach</li></ul>Skills for Success<ul><li>Effective written, verbal, and electronic communication</li><li>Ability to build trust and strong working relationships with doctors, managers, peers, and patients</li><li>Strong organizational and multitasking skills</li><li>Ability to take initiative and exercise sound judgment</li><li>Strong problem-solving abilities</li><li>Commitment to maintaining confidentiality</li><li>Proficiency in Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint</li><li>A collaborative mindset and shared accountability across teams</li></ul>Work EnvironmentThis role is based primarily in a clinical setting, working closely with doctors during oral and maxillofacial surgical procedures and using specialized surgical equipment. Some responsibilities may also take place in an office setting using a computer, telephone system, and other standard office equipment.
