The Maintenance Technician plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing equipment and facilities within a food manufacturing environment. This position involves a combination of technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and hygienic working environment. This role ensures production uptime through a robust preventative maintenance program and responds to unplanned downtime with a solutions-oriented approach.</div>
<h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>Essential Functions:
</b></h3><ul><li><b>Equipment Maintenance:</b></li><li>
Perform routine preventive maintenance tasks on production machinery, including steam cookers, mixers, boiler system, packaging equipment, water softeners, pumps, and refrigeration systems.</li><li>
Conduct inspections, lubrication, and adjustments to ensure equipment operates efficiently and meets production requirements.</li><li>
Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions, identify root causes, and implement effective repairs to minimize downtime.</li><li>
Respond promptly and provide emergency unscheduled troubleshooting and repairs of production equipment during the manufacturing process to prevent disruptions to production.</li><li><b>
Facility Maintenance:</b></li><li>
Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the production area, ensuring compliance with sanitation standards.</li><li>
Monitor and repair facility systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems, to support a safe and comfortable working environment.</li><li><b>
Safety and Compliance:</b></li><li>
Adhere to all safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures, personal protective equipment (PPE) usage, and safe work practices.</li><li>
Participate in safety training programs and contribute to the development of safety initiatives to promote a culture of safety.</li><li>
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements (DPS, HACCP, OSHA) and company policies related to food safety, sanitation, and environmental regulations.</li><li><b>
Documentation and Reporting:</b></li><li>
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment inspections, and inventory management.</li><li>
Document equipment repairs, parts replacements, and maintenance procedures to track equipment history and performance.</li><li><b>
Collaboration and Communication:</b></li><li>
Coordinate with production manager to prioritize maintenance tasks and minimize disruptions to production schedules.</li><li>
Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, cultivation and fulfillment, to address maintenance issues and implement solutions.</li><li>
Provide technical assistance and training to production staff on equipment operation, maintenance procedures, and safety protocols.</li><li>
Flexibility to work non-standard hours as needed, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.</li><li>
Perform all other duties as assigned up to and including sanitation and cleaning of the facility as needed.</li></ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
Knowledge, Skills, &amp; Abilities:
</b></h3><ul><li>Must have a strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.</li><li>
Ability to perform electrical troubleshooting/repairs on PLC, relay logic and logic controllers, 480v, 220v, 110v AC single/three phase and DC systems.</li><li>
Strong understanding of electrical systems, including motors, drives, industrial sensors, and HVAC systems.</li><li>
Knowledge of safety standards and regulations related to electrical and control systems.</li><li>
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.</li><li>
Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.</li><li>
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.</li><li>
Willingness to adapt to changing priorities and learn new technologies as needed.</li><li>
Ability to perform mechanical repairs that include hydraulic and pneumatic systems.</li><li>
Ability to operate a computer to support and record documentation in our computer maintenance management system.</li></ul><h3 class="jobSectionHeader"><b>
What You&rsquo;ll Need to Succeed:
</b></h3><ul><li>High school diploma or GED, required.</li><li>
Technical school education, preferred.</li><li>
3-5 years&rsquo; related experience in an industrial manufacturing environment, preferably in a GMP environment.</li><li>
3-5 years&rsquo; experience troubleshooting and maintaining electrical and mechanical systems.</li><li>
Ability to operate a computer including Excel, Word, Outlook and SharePoint.
</li><li>Ability to research issues, contact manufacturer/supplier and complete tasks.
</li><li>Must be &quot;hands-on&quot; in completing maintenance work.
</li><li>Some weekend and evening work required (emergency).
</li><li>Must meet age requirement as outlined by state cannabis agencies.</li><li>
Able to pass all background checks/fingerprinting as required by state cannabis agencies.</li><li>
Able to provide valid badging/credentials as required by state cannabis agencies
</li><li>Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
</li><li>Must follow PPE and Safety guidelines as required, in each zoned area within the facility, while completing work.</li><li>
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.</li><li>
Must be able to constantly position self throughout task at hand.</li><li>
Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder to service various equipment.</li><li>
The person in this position needs to frequently move about the inside and outside of buildings.</li><li>
Occasionally works in outside conditions that include exposure to inclement weather, heat, and humidity.
</li><li>Requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina.</li><li>
Frequently lifts, loads, unloads, moves, positions, and transports items up to 50 pounds.</li><li>
This person may be exposed to dust, kief, cleaning chemicals, and fumes. Although systems are in place to remove these byproducts, there is still exposure to some degree.
