<div>Our busy legal firm is looking for an efficient, organized legal assistant to help our attorneys and paralegal assist clients and ensure we&rsquo;re operating efficiently. You&rsquo;ll assist with the preparation of legal documents, efiling, coordinating with courts, mediators, opposing counsels, through phone calls and emails, and reminding the team of upcoming deadlines. Compensation:
$50,500 - $61,500 yearly
Responsibilities:<ul><li>
Make travel arrangements, schedule meetings and appointments for the team, such as depositions, and coordinate with outside vendors for events</li>
<li>Work with attorneys and paralegals to create various legal documents, including pleadings, motions, subpoenas, affidavits, contracts, and briefs for case preparation, and proofread documents when requested</li>
<li>Handle office correspondence and administrative tasks such as responding to emails and phone calls, communicating with opposing attorney offices, taking dictation, and letting the team know about upcoming deadlines</li>
<li>Perform legal research, as needed, with help from attorneys and paralegals</li>
<li>Process client billing properly using daily time records with help from the accounting department</li>
</ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>
Organizational skills and communication skills are necessary for this position</li>
<li>Proficient with MS Office products</li>
<li>Applicants must be able to type 50 words per minute or faster</li>
<li>Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines with quick turnaround times</li>
</ul><ul><li>At least 6 years of previous experience in a law firm setting performing administrative tasks</li><li>
Independent thinker and problem solver</li><li>
Must have proficient knowledge in e-filing
</li><li>Must understanding of Texas litigation process from pre-litigation through post trial.
