Job Title: Plumber Company Name: Tharp Plumbing Salary: $24 to $32+ an hour Position Type: Full Time Job Objective Assembles, installs and repairs pipes, fittings, fixtures and equipment of water, gas, drain-waste-vent (DWV), and storm systems according to specifications and plumbing codes. Must perform all functions and responsibilities in alignment with Tharp's quality standards and business ethics.Essential Functions and Tasks<ul><li>Assemble pipe sections, tubing and fittings, using couplings, clamps, screws, bolts, cement, plastic solvent, caulking or soldering, brazing and welding equipment.</li><li>Fill pipes or plumbing fixtures with water or air and observe pressure gauges to detect and locate leaks.</li><li>Review blueprints and building codes and specifications to determine work details and procedures.</li><li>Study building plans and inspect structures to assess material and equipment needs, to establish the sequence of pipe installations and to plan installation obstructions such as electrical wiring.</li><li>Perform complex calculations and planning for special or very large jobs.</li><li>Locate and mark the position of pipe installations, connections, passage holes, and fixture in structures, using measuring instruments such as rulers and levels.</li><li>Measure, cut, thread and bend pipe to required angle, using hand and power tools and machines such as pipe cutters, pipe-threading machines and pipe-bending machines.</li><li>Install pipe assembles, fittings, valves, appliances such as dishwashers, water heaters and fixtures such as sinks and toilets, using hand and power tools.</li><li>Cut openings in structures to accommodate pipes and pipe fittings, using hand and power tools.</li><li>Repair and maintain plumbing, replacing defective washers, replacing or mending broken pipes and opening clogged drains.</li><li>Direct workers and helpers engaged in pipe cutting and preassembly and installation of plumbing systems and components.</li><li>Install underground storm, DWV and water piping systems and extend piping to connect fixtures and plumbing to these systems.</li><li>Clear away debris in a renovation.</li><li>Occasionally safely operate company vehicles in strict compliance with the company's Fleet Safety mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes.</li><li>Performing for or working directly with customers and/or the public: performing in a collaborative and helpful manner for people associated with general contractors, other specialty contractors, vendors or code enforcement officials.</li><li>Making decisions and solving problems: analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and solve problems.</li><li>Inspecting equipment, structures or material: inspecting equipment, structures or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.</li><li>Monitor processes, materials or surroundings: constantly review information from materials, events or the environment to detect or assess problems that may interfere with performance and productivity of work.</li><li>Strictly comply with attendance policy as stipulated in Employee Manual.</li></ul>Skill Requirements<ul><li>Actively listen by giving full attention to to do something.</li></ul>Knowledge, Experience and Education Requirements<ul><li>Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
