We offer an educational program based upon developmentally appropriate practices in order to help the children develop a strong foundation and gain a positive attitude toward learning. We focus on the children&rsquo;s cognitive, socioemotional and physical growth in order to promote an integrated and effective approach to learning. We maintain a warm, loving environment to instill in the children that this is a place where they can trust, be happy and feel secure.What You Will Do:As a teacher at The Academy for Little Children, you will join a family of educators dedicated to helping each child succeed. Responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:<ul><li>Monthly and daily lesson planning</li><li>Assessment of students</li><li>Daily communication with families</li><li>Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized classroom</li><li>Maintaining compliance with DHS and BrightStars standards</li><li>Following center policies</li><li>Working with coworkers as an active team member</li></ul>What You Will Bring:Everyone has their own unique talents, individual areas of strength, background, and personality, and we strongly encourage our teachers to utilize these traits to help themselves, other teachers &ndash; and most importantly, the children &ndash; succeed. With that in mind, we do have the following requirements and preferences for applicants:<ul><li>Minimum of 1 years working with Infants (6 weeks - 18 months old).</li><li>Must have taken, or be willing to take, RIELDS Foundations and Curriculum courses</li><li>Must complete 20 hours of professional development per year</li><li>Must possess excellent work attendance</li></ul>What You Will Get:Here at The Academy for Little Children, we always strive to foster a positive atmosphere.
