Work Arrangement:</b></p><p>
***After the initial training period, this is a hybrid role, working onsite in our Sioux Falls, SD office.***</p><p></p><div><br>
Investigates and analyzes potential Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and fraudulent transactions and document findings up to and including filing out Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) and escalating cases to the proper government enforcement authorities.</div>
Responsibilities:
<div><b>Essential Functions</b></div><ul><li>
Conducts financial forensic investigations on Anti-Money Laundering (AML) cases involving complex transaction patterns, including those derived from internal escalations, referrals from business lines, law enforcement requests, and department intelligence.</li><li>
Determines and pursues the best investigative approach for each unique case, ensuring material risk factors are addressed in compliance with AML department policies and regulatory expectations.</li><li>
Writes and prepares Suspicious Activity Reports (SAR), following established regulatory guidelines and time frames.</li><li>
Documents steps taken through the investigation escalation process through supporting research and data.</li><li>
Communicates findings, status, open issues, and other AML-related items to management regularly.</li><li>
Interfaces with internal and external partners to obtain information, as needed, on questionable transaction activity.</li><li>
Works closely with internal groups to ensure understanding of SAR and investigative requirements.</li><li>
Provides feedback, input, and suggestions on Know Your Customer (KYC) issues, acting as a subject matter expert on the operations and processes to streamline and improve function effectiveness.</li><li>
Performs other duties as assigned.</li></ul>
Qualifications:
<div><b>Education/Experience Requirements</b></div><ul><li>
Undergraduate degree in a related field preferred. Otherwise, a non-related undergraduate degree and combination of training and experience will be considered.</li><li>
3 years of transaction monitoring, KYC, sanctions, fraud, or investigative experience in BSA/AML.</li></ul><div><b>
Preferred Requirements</b></div><ul><li>
Experience in writing and preparing Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements preferred.</li><li>
Strong working knowledge of AML and KYC rules and regulations with exposure to SARs documentation.</li><li>
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.</li><li>
A team player, able to work effectively in a team fostered, multi-tasking environment.</li><li>
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook.</li><li>
No travel required.</li></ul>
