Overview We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join our team in a fully remote capacity. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of accounting principles, financial software, and industry-specific standards. This role offers the opportunity to manage complex bookkeeping tasks, prepare financial reports, and ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements. The Senior Bookkeeper will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records for diverse clients, including non-profit organizations, governmental entities, and corporate clients.Responsibilities<ul><li>Manage and perform general ledger accounting, including account reconciliation and journal entries</li><li>Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and bank reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial data</li><li>Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes with precision and timeliness</li><li>Prepare detailed financial reports, including financial statement writing and account analysis</li><li>Ensure compliance with GAAP standards and applicable accounting regulations</li><li>Utilize various accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken, and other financial tools to record transactions accurately</li><li>Perform double-entry bookkeeping and maintain proper debits &amp; credits in all accounts</li><li>Assist with payroll processing and tax-related activities as needed</li><li>Support budgeting processes and provide insights for financial planning</li><li>Conduct general ledger reconciliation regularly to maintain data integrity</li><li>Collaborate with clients on technical accounting issues and provide expert guidance on financial concepts</li><li>Manage other junior bookkeepers</li></ul>Qualifications<ul><li>Proven experience in corporate accounting and non-profit accounting.</li><li>Proficiency with multiple accounting software platforms including QuickBooks online, QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken, and other relevant tools</li><li>Strong understanding of GAAP principles, double-entry bookkeeping, and financial concepts</li><li>Experience with bank reconciliation, account reconciliation, journal entries, and general ledger management</li><li>Knowledge of tax procedures related to bookkeeping activities</li><li>Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail in account analysis and account reconciliation</li><li>Strong experience and knowledge of excel / google sheets, including vlookup and pivot tables.</li><li>Familiarity with budgeting processes and financial report writing</li><li>Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple accounts remotely</li><li>Prior experience in public accounting or technical accounting is preferred</li><li>Experience in managing junior bookkeepers is preferred</li></ul>This position is ideal for a team leader and detail-oriented professional seeking a flexible remote role that leverages extensive bookkeeping expertise while contributing to diverse client needs.Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, ContractPay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hourWork Location: Remote
