Job Title: Warehouse Manager Location: Lorton, VA Type: Full-time, 40 hours/week 8AM- 4:30PM Pay: range to be determined, opportunity goes up commensurate with previous experience. She launched the company with just $60 and grew it to a nationally recognized brand carried in more than 2,000 stores across the country, including major retailers. As her business scaled, fulfillment quickly became one of the biggest operational challenges and was often stressful, costly, and difficult to manage.Over time, Janie built a streamlined, high-quality fulfillment infrastructure for her own business, and in 2023 she began helping other small brands facing the same hurdle to growth. What started as a way to support fellow founders has now grown into a fulfillment company serving 10 clients and counting. We work collaboratively, communicate openly, and genuinely enjoy the work we do together.Job Description: This role is a blend of Warehouse Manager and Operations Manager, ideal for someone who enjoys both hands-on work and big-picture thinking. Because we&rsquo;re a small but growing company, this person will wear multiple hats: overseeing daily warehouse operations, helping with inventory and order fulfillment when needed, and also driving process improvements that increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.Candidates should have management experience, whether in a warehouse or retail environment. Experience with fulfillment operations&mdash;either at a 3PL or managing fulfillment for a brand&mdash;is a strong plus, though not required. We will consider applicants who bring relevant skills even if they don&rsquo;t have direct fulfillment experience.We&rsquo;re looking for someone who is organized, proactive, and excited to build structure, not just follow it. This role comes with significant responsibility and autonomy, but without the constant high pressure of a large-scale warehouse. Most months are low-stress and steady, with a predictable ramp-up during the holiday season.This position is perfect for someone who wants to have a real impact on a business, shape core operational systems, and grow with a company that values initiative and continuous improvement.As the Warehouse Manager at Shipfluence, you will be the backbone of our daily operations. You&rsquo;ll oversee a small team of 2&ndash;4 people, manage schedules, and ensure the warehouse runs smoothly and efficiently. Currently, the owner remains heavily involved in daily operations, but is seeking someone who can take on full responsibility and free her to focus on business development. Ideally, you&rsquo;ll be able to manage the warehouse independently&mdash;if not immediately, then within 3&ndash;4 months.If we find a candidate that can take on enough responsibility that it allows us to scale our operations, we would be open to a profit-sharing arrangement after 3 years of employment.Working hours are 8AM-4:30PM Monday-FridayKey Responsibilities:<ul><li>Manage day-to-day operations of the warehouse, including staff supervision, scheduling, and overseeing fulfillment and packaging tasks</li><li>Manage overall warehouse operations and fully operate the warehouse unassisted</li><li>Communicate effectively and clearly with warehouse team</li><li>Manage inbound and outbound deliveries and communicate accordingly about them</li><li>Manage inventory receipts and kitting assignments</li><li>Lead and assign picking, packing, and kitting tasks to associates</li><li>Ensure effective inventory management and quality control</li><li>Oversee and manage fulfillment processes</li><li>Oversee daily shipping of orders &amp; manage order flow</li><li>Ensure orders are going out in a timely manner (typically within 1-3 business days)</li><li>Able to take initiative and problem solve</li><li>Work with CEO to improve the process</li><li>Oversee the ordering of shipping and warehouse supplies</li><li>Maintain general warehouse organization and cleanliness</li><li>Assist with hiring new employees</li><li>Train new employees and conduct yearly evaluations alongside the CEO</li><li>Provide guidance and feedback to employees on a regular basis</li><li>Communicate effectively with the CEO/COO regarding staffing needs and operational adjustments</li><li>Collaborate with fulfillment associates to prioritize work schedules</li><li>Oversee building operations and be able to effectively handle issues that come up, things like light bulbs are out, you call the light bulb company. Pest service didn&rsquo;t show up, you call them up to make the appointment.</li><li>Open and close the warehouse or delegate and train an associate to do so</li><li>Handle high-volume work periods, particularly during the winter holiday retail season (October-January).</li><li>Recommend and implement changes to activities, processes and workflows to meaningfully improve the customer experience, speed up the process and/or reduce costs.</li><li>Be able to evolve and grow with the role as the business grows</li></ul>Other Key Responsibilities:<ul><li>Must have or be able to develop a thorough understanding of Shipstation and Extensiv (WMS system)</li><li>Be able to use Extensiv (our WMS software) with ease and perform the following tasks:</li><li>Create warehouse locations and bin locations</li><li>Be able to create inventory adjustments in Extensiv</li><li>Be able to run reports to track issues in Extensiv</li><li>Work with CEO to improve Extensiv logic</li><li>Work with CEO to analyze shipping data to be able to evaluate and set warehouse capacity and employee benchmarks and accurately assess labor needs</li><li>Be able to manage the physical onboarding of new clients (working with team to build shelves, locations, ensure inventory is packaged for picking and move the inventory into place) and technical (working with our systems manager and account manager to align the software flow with the physical warehouse set up of new clients).</li><li>Participate in the company slack channel. Either directly or indirectly communicate issues that arise with client orders and inventory and make adjustments as necessary</li><li>Communicate with account manager to resolve inventory discrepancies</li></ul>Ideal Candidate:<ul><li>Demonstrates exceptional attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.</li><li>Has the ability to effectively prioritize tasks</li><li>Has previous experience in personnel management and warehouse or logistics management</li><li>Has experience growing a small scale fulfillment operation for a single brand or a fulfillment company</li><li>Comfortable with technology and has a strong familiarity with either specifically with Extensiv and Shipstation or a WMS software system in general</li><li>Shows critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a solution-oriented mindset.</li><li>Possesses strong communication skills, both verbal and written</li><li>Must be trustworthy, reliable, and hard-working</li><li>Must be able to manage all warehouse operations without any assistance from the CEO</li><li>Must be a self-starter and work well within a team, with an enthusiastic and friendly personality</li></ul>Requirements:<ul><li>Management training and experience are essential</li><li>Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods</li><li>Ability to lift up to 50lbs</li><li>Ability to climb warehouse ladders</li><li>Bonus points if you know how to operate a forklift</li></ul>Pay:<ul><li>Pay commiserate with experience.
