Job Summary
The Caregiver provides in-home support to clients who need assistance with daily living activities. Responsibilities include personal care, medication assistance, meal preparation, housekeeping, and companionship. Caregivers follow each client&rsquo;s individualized Service Plan and maintain accurate documentation. Success in this role requires patience, empathy, dependability, and strong communication skills.
Key Responsibilities<ul><li>
Assist clients with personal care including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting and mobility</li><li>
Follow the client&rsquo;s Service Plan and document all services provided</li><li>
Observe and report changes in client condition or behavior and report incidents per company policy</li><li>
Support medication needs per policy and state regulations</li><li>
Prepare meals and assist with grocery shopping as needed</li><li>
Maintain a clean and safe home environment through light housekeeping and laundry</li><li>
Use safe transfer and mobility techniques and identify potential safety hazards in the home</li><li>
Follow infection control practices and maintain a sanitary care environment</li><li>
Provide companionship and emotional support while promoting client independence</li><li>
Transport clients to approved appointments or errands when required by the Service Plan</li></ul>
Essential Functions (Required with or without reasonable accommodation)<ul><li>
Reliable, predictable, and punctual attendance; ability to work assigned schedules essential to client safety</li><li>
Ability to perform all listed physical tasks, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, navigating stairs, and lifting/pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs</li><li>
Ability to work in unpredictable home environments, including exposure to pets, odors, allergens, clutter, and varying temperatures</li><li>
Ability to read, understand, and follow care plans and written/oral instructions</li><li>
Ability to maintain professionalism, exercise sound judgment, and work independently with minimal supervision</li><li>
Ability to complete required documentation during or immediately after each shift</li><li>
Reliable transportation, valid driver&rsquo;s license, proof of insurance, and ability to travel between client homes (if driving is assigned)</li><li>
Ability to comply with all company policies, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements</li><li>
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact well with different types of clients and co-workers in a productive and positive manner</li></ul>
Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications<ul><li>
CPR/First Aid certification preferred</li><li>
Ability to meet all physical and attendance requirements listed above</li><li>
Ability to complete state-mandated caregiver training</li><li>
Understanding of HIPAA and company confidentiality obligations</li><li>
Successful completion of background and reference checks</li></ul>
Working Conditions<ul><li>
Work occurs in private homes with variable cleanliness, temperature, noise, clutter, and presence of pets or other individuals</li><li>
Exposure to household allergens, chemicals, or other common substances</li></ul>
Work Location: Variable
Work Hours: Variable
Supervisory Responsibilities: No
Required Travel: Travel to client homes
