 Litigation Legal Assistant Summary
 
 
 
 As a standard insurance defense, bad faith defense, and coverage litigation legal assistant, you will primarily be working with a senior attorney and an associate attorney with a busy insurance defense and general litigation practice in Arizona and New Mexico. The primary responsibilities will include court filings and service of documents, docketing deadlines, and managing attorneys&rsquo; calendars. The ideal candidate is highly organized, excels at multi-tasking and prioritization, and has familiarity with State and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure. This role has a 37.5-hour workweek with the benefit of one assigned work-from-home day a week.
 
 
 
 Responsibilities
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 File and organize legal documents and correspondence in internal document management system. iManage experience a plus.
 </li>
 <li>
 File and serve court documents in courts through TurboCourt and Pacer/CM/ECF.
 </li>
 <li>
 Serve discovery, correspondence and other legal documents and maintain accurate case service lists.
 </li>
 <li>
 Set up new client files and organize client documents and file materials.
 </li>
 <li>
 Research various processes and procedures online and contact with courts and bar associations.
 </li>
 <li>
 Enter time and insurance codes into billing system. Perfectlaw experience a plus.
 </li>
 <li>
 Manage attorney reimbursements and prepare expense reports.
 </li>
 <li>
 Conduct document review for accuracy and completeness.
 </li>
 <li>
 Proofread legal documents for grammar, spelling, and formatting errors.
 </li>
 <li>
 Assist with paralegal tasks as necessary such as printing and preparation of documents for trial, hearings or mediations.
 </li>
 <li>
 Perform clerical duties such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and managing calendars.
 </li>
 <li>
 Write and prepare legal correspondence, memos, and reports.
 </li>
 <li>
 Provide administrative support to attorneys and legal staff.
 </li>
 <li>
 Contact with clients as needed.

 Requirements
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 3 &ndash; 5 years of litigation legal assistant experience.
 </li>
 <li>
 Knowledge of deadlines under the Arizona Rules of Civil Procedure, New Mexico Rules of Civil Procedure, and Federal Rules of Civil Procedure.
 </li>
 <li>
 Willingness to research other jurisdictions deadlines as needed.
 </li>
 <li>
 Strong organizational skills to effectively manage and maintain files and documents.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to prioritize tasks.
 </li>
 <li>
 Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in document review and proofreading.
 </li>
 <li>
 Knowledge of legal terminology and procedures to assist with paralegal tasks.
 </li>
 <li>
 Proficient in clerical tasks such as data entry, scheduling, and phone etiquette.
 </li>
 <li>
 Excellent written and verbal communication skills for legal correspondence and client interactions.
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to conduct research using online databases and resources.
 </li>
