You will prepare monthly financial reports, support the annual audit process, and provide other accounting services. You will also serve as the primary point of contact to answer your client&rsquo;s questions. We are looking for an intrinsically motivated problem-solver who values teamwork and impact. Learn more about all of these benefits and more .What you would be helping us with: <ul><li>Regularly perform bookkeeping tasks (processing bills, recording revenue and expense transactions, posting payroll entries, etc).</li><li>Maintain timely email correspondence with clients; answer client questions, follow-up on outstanding requests, and coordinate regarding upcoming projects.</li><li>Conduct month-end close procedures for all assigned clients.</li><li>Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations (bank accounts, investments, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, lease-related accounts, payroll accrual, deferred revenue, debt, and restricted net assets).</li><li>Prepare monthly financial reports with an executive summary narrative for all assigned clients.</li><li>Track spend-down of clients&rsquo; restricted grants. Review all new client grant agreements to ensure that grants are accounted for and tracked properly and to identify any compliance expectations that may impact our accounting processes.</li><li>Conduct a full annual review of client financial statements to ensure that they are accurate and &lsquo;audit-ready&rsquo; prior to the commencement of financial statement audits.</li><li>Serve as the primary liaison with client auditors, ensuring that all requested documentation is provided in a timely manner, so that the audit timeline can remain on track.</li><li>Prepare annual 1099 filings for all assigned clients.</li><li>Participate in new client onboarding meetings to understand their unique needs and to build customized accounting processes.</li><li>Participate in periodic client &lsquo;desk reviews&rsquo; to identify areas for improvement and to develop a game plan for cleaning-up any accounting issues.</li><li>Maintain and rigorously document accounting processes for all assigned clients. Proactively revise accounting processes as necessary.</li><li>On an annual basis, prepare a custom assessment of each client&rsquo;s financial health, leveraging our proprietary Nonprofit Blueprint model.</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>Pursuing a Bachelor&rsquo;s Degree in Accounting or similar field such as finance or business administration, or have at least 3 months of accounting/bookkeeping experience</li><li>Energized by working with nonprofit organizations</li><li>Willing to learn new software and skills</li><li>Able to communicate in a conscientious and inclusive way, both verbally and in writing</li><li>Detail-oriented</li><li>Able to draw on both critical thinking skills and intuition to solve problems</li><li>Intrinsically motivated to succeed</li><li>Humble and willing to ask for help</li><li>Have experience with Quickbooks Online or another accounting system, preferred</li></ul>What Success Looks Like in the First 60 Days:Like we mentioned above, we&rsquo;ll provide you with all the support and training you need to crush your goals inside the workplace.
