 <div>All duties and responsibilities of an Environmental Services Tech II
1. Always promotes patient safety.
2. Able to clean patient rooms and discharges as required.
3. Is knowledgeable of all ESI chemicals and procedures.
4. Provides excellent customer service to patients, visitors and staff. 
Routine floor maintenance.
1. Is knowledgeable of and trained in the use and maintenance of floor machines, Boost technology, auto-scrubbers and automatic burnishers.
2. Follows the guidelines for dust mopping, wet mopping and spot mopping hard surface corridors in addition to the heavier equipment above. 
Floor Stripping and refinishing
1. Has experience in and properly prepares floors for refinishing to include stripping and scrubbing surfaces.
2. Details prepared surfaces including edges and corners, behind doors, and cove base.
3. Knows when floor is ready for finish and how to apply the proper number of coats based on the floor preparation.
4. Always cleans equipment and disposes of unused product in a safe manner according to department policy.
5. Follows all safety protocol to protect self and others in the area. 
Carpet spotting and cleaning.
1. Knows how to clean carpet surfaces using proper spotting technique and correct chemicals for the needed equipment.
2. Has knowledge of vacuum sweepers, cleaners, floor machines and various types of extractors.
3. Always cleans equipment and disposes of unused product in a safe manner according to department policy.
4. Follows all safety protocol to protect self and others in the area. 
Trash Hauling.
1. Must have the ability to learn all areas of trash removal and trash routes for pushing gondolas of trash.
2. All gondolas are to be covered whenever in transit, whether empty or full.
3. Must be able to learn to use a steam autoclave and shredder for bio trash and have the ability to read graphs and record weights and temperatures.
4. Follows department procedures for correct PPE and safety. 
Confidentiality.
1. Is aware of and follows hospital policy and federal regulations regarding patient confidentiality.
2. Is tested annually on Safety and Confidentiality. 
Basic Computer Knowledge.
1. Ability to learn MS Office Outlook for emails.
2. Ability to take and pass required annual Stat Tests. 
Other tasks as required including meeting set-ups and recycling.</div>

EDUCATION: High School Diploma or GED preferred 
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 2 years&rsquo; experience including floor care required 
REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
Basic reading, writing, and math skills required.
Basic healthcare housekeeping customer service skills required.
Use of floor equipment as defined in duties and responsibilities required.
Knowledge of computers preferred, but not required. 
LICENSES &amp; CERTIFICATIONS:
CHEST certification within 1 year preferred, but not required.</div>

ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES TECHNICIAN

<div>Assists in examination and treatment of patients under direction of physician.</div>
 <div>Maintains patient flow during clinic hours. Documents review of systems; measures vital signs such as pulse rate, respirations, blood pressure, weight and height (see Appendix A for specifics); updates past and current medical, social and family history; reviews medications and updates medication list at each visit. Correctly records patient information in the electronic medical record (EMR). May assist in training of new employees. 
Prepares patient charts in EMR for visits by scanning, abstracting, and reviewing to make certain that all diagnostic test results, hospital reports and other medical records necessary to help the physician care for the patient are in the patient&rsquo;s chart. Accesses and navigates websites or calls outside facilities to obtain necessary information. May act as Super User for Electronic Medical Record. 
Refills medications and pre-authorizes medications including communicating with the patient, pharmacy, or insurance company as needed to complete the task. Maintains recording of patient samples and other medications and disposes expired medications. Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients; maintains clean, fully supplied exam rooms. Orders medical supplies as needed. Completes patient assistance paperwork/requests as needed. 
Obtains pertinent medical information from patients to facilitate medical decision making per specific office protocol procedures. Returns calls as needed. Responds to MyChart as needed. Works in-baskets, daily work flow logs, and work queues in EMR/Practice Management system. May coordinate/oversee work queues in office. Answers incoming calls, schedules appointments, checks-in and out patients, and completes pre-certifications for prescriptions, procedures, and surgeries as needed. 
Operates EKG, cardiac monitors, and other equipment to administer routine diagnostic tests as needed and other clinical duties such as phlebotomy and cast removal as assigned. 
Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations. Maintains patient confidence and protect operations by keeping patient care information confidential. Understands and adheres to the legal responsibilities and requirements with the medical assistant role. Demonstrates comprehension and support of quality measures and patient experience.</div>

</div>EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent. Associate Degree and/or Certified/Registered MA preferred. Graduate of a Medical Assistant program or previous Medical Assisting experience required. 
YEARS OF EXPERIENCE: 2 to 5 years MA or other relevant experience preferred; Practice in different care settings (eg. Primary care, Specialty, EMT, etc.). 
REQUIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE: Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Outlook, Excel, EMR and scheduling systems) required. Strong verbal and social skills to facilitate working respectfully with patients, physicians, visitors, co-workers, and drug reps in person or by telephone required. Ability and willingness to travel to other physician offices as requested or needed. Complementary clinical skills such as phlebotomy, performing EKGs, stiches removal, splinting, etc. are highly preferred. 
LICENSES &amp; CERTIFICATIONS
Certified/Registered MA preferred. Must successfully complete skills orientation. BLS certification required.</div>
