The Provider Contracting Advisor serves as an integral member of the Provider Contracting Team and reports to the AVP, Provider Contracting. This role assists in managing commercial contract negotiations and activities for a local given territory.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES<ul><li>
Manages complex contracting and negotiations for fee for service and value-based reimbursements (e.g., Hospital systems, Ancillaries, and physician groups).</li><li>
Builds relationships that nurture provider partnerships and seeks broader value-based business opportunities to support the local market strategy.</li><li>
Initiates and maintains effective channels of communication with matrix partners including but not limited to, Claims Operations, Medical Management. Credentialing, Legal, Medical Economics, Compliance, Sales and Marketing and Service.</li><li>

Works to meet unit cost targets, while preserving an adequate network, to achieve and maintain Cigna's competitive position.</li><li>
Creates and manages initiatives that improve total medical cost and quality.</li><li>
Drives change with external provider partners by assessing clinical informatics and offering consultative expertise to assist with total medical cost initiatives.</li><li>
Prepares, analyzes, reviews, and projects financial impact of larger or complex provider contracts and alternate contract terms.</li><li>
Creates healthcare provider agreements that meet internal operational standards and external provider expectations. Ensures the accurate implementation, and administration through matrix partners.</li><li>
Assists in resolving elevated and complex provider service complaints. Researches problems and negotiates with internal/external partners/customers to resolve highly complex and/or escalated issues.</li><li>
Manages key provider relationships and is accountable for critical interface with providers and business staff.</li><li>
Demonstrates knowledge of providers in an assigned geographic area through understanding the interrelationships as well as the competitive landscape.</li><li>
Responsible for accurate and timely contract loading and submissions and interface with matrix partners for network implementation and maintenance.</li><li>
May provide guidance or expertise to less experienced specialists.</li></ul>
POSITION REQUIREMENTS<ul><li>
Bachelor's Degree Preferred; preferably in the areas of Finance, Economics, Healthcare or Business related. Industry experience will be considered in lieu of a bachelor&rsquo;s degree. MBA or MHA preferred.</li><li>
3+ years Managed Care contracting and negotiating experience involving complex delivery systems and organizations strongly preferred.</li><li>
Experience in developing and managing key provider relationships</li><li>
Knowledge of complex reimbursement methodologies, including incentive based models strongly preferred.</li><li>
Demonstrated experience in seeking out, building and nurturing strong external relationships with provider partners.</li><li>
Intimate understanding and experience with hospital, managed care, and provider business models.</li><li>

Responsibilities<ul><li>

Required Qualifications<ul><li>
3+ years of experience supporting PC/LAN environments in a technical support role</li><li>
Hands-on experience troubleshooting Windows and/or Mac operating systems, hardware, and peripheral devices</li><li>
Working knowledge of networking fundamentals, including switches and data networks</li><li>
Experience managing and resolving service requests using a ticketing system</li><li>
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues independently</li><li>
Effective communication skills with a focus on delivering excellent customer service</li><li>
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment</li><li>
Experience working with standard IT processes, escalation procedures, and service level agreements</li></ul>

Technical Support Analyst - Express Scripts - OnSite

Join our Accounts Receivable team that supports Accredo Specialty Pharmacy as a Billing &amp; Reimbursement Representative. In this role, you will utilize advanced knowledge to prepare and review claims approaching timely filing to ensure billing accuracy and to edit, bill and collect payment on outstanding claims in pursuit of reducing the company's accounts receivable. The qualified candidate must have a complete understanding of the billing and collection processes and require little supervision for routine work.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:<ul><li>
Prepare and review claims to ensure billing accuracy according to payor requirements, including but not limited to codes, modifiers, pricing, dates and authorizations</li><li>
Pursue collection activities to obtain reimbursement from patients and/or payors</li><li>
Contact payors to request overrides, retro authorizations, additional documentation, window extensions, etc. to ensure invoice has necessary elements for reimbursement or to work a rejected claim (denial)</li><li>
Frequent follow up with payers and/or patients on outstanding accounts</li><li>
Respond to billing inquiries and questions relating to patient accounts</li><li>
Help with special projects when needed</li></ul>
QUALIFICATIONS:<ul><li>

Must be able to work full time with availability during normal business hours (8:30 am to 8:00 pm Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm Saturdays). Option to work 4 day 10 hour shift or a 5 day 8 hour shift.
</li><li>Once fully trained, must be able to work 1 to 2 Saturdays per month with a day off during the week.</li></ul>
