<div>ADMINISTRATION
The City of Hinesville is accepting applications for a Communications Specialist position in the Administration Department. This position performs specialized duties in support of city public relations, marketing, and communications functions. The position also includes assumes key administrative responsibilities to ensure the smooth operation of the Mayor and City Manager&acirc;&euro;&trade;s Office, including front-line public interaction, correspondence handling, scheduling assistance, and record management.
Major duties include:
&Acirc;&middot; Communicates with the news media to promote city programs and services.
&Acirc;&middot; Manages city social media accounts; assists in developing and implementing social media strategies.
&Acirc;&middot; Writes, edits, and posts stories related to city programs, events, and activities to website, social media accounts.
&Acirc;&middot; Tracks and logs all media on a daily basis; maintains clips of news stories and prepares related reports.
&Acirc;&middot; Manages assigned pages of the city website; assists with content management and design of the city website.
&Acirc;&middot; Coordinates and participates in a variety of special city events and press conferences
&Acirc;&middot; Assists in ensuring adherence to city branding standards. 
Knowledge required by this position include:
 &Acirc;&middot; Knowledge of marketing, advertising, and communications principles and strategies.
&Acirc;&middot; Knowledge of the AP Style Guide.
&Acirc;&middot; Knowledge of website and social media platform management principles.
&Acirc;&middot; Knowledge of media relations principles.
&Acirc;&middot; Skill in developing and implementing marketing and public relations strategies
Minimum qualifications include an Bachelor&acirc;&euro;&trade;s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Public Administration or a related field. Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/ internship or having had a similar position for one to two years. Minimum starting salary is $48,902.99 plus an excellent benefit package. This position closes on September 24, 2025, at 5:00 p.m.</div>
