 OB SUMMARY:
 
 This position performs specialized accounting work in support of grant management operations and the accounting division. Responsible for managing and monitoring federal, state, and local grants; ensuring grant compliance; preparing grant reports; and providing technical accounting support, financial analysis, and reporting guidance.
 
 
 
 Job Requirements
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Creates, updates, analyzes, and processes accounting transactions; analyzes financial transactions; provides accounting guidance; communicates financial information; records adjusting and corrective journal entries; assists departments with financial questions and training.
 </li>
 <li>
 Analyzes ledger accounts, prepares reconciliations for assigned balance sheet accounts, and balances assigned general ledger accounts.
 </li>
 <li>
 Assists with preparation of the annual independent audit, audit workpapers, and assigned ACFR schedules.
 </li>
 <li>
 Prepares and gathers information to complete internal and external reports.
 </li>
 <li>
 Manages and monitors federal, state, and local grants; prepares complex grant reports; provides guidance to City divisions regarding grant requirements and regulations.
 </li>
 <li>
 Responds to inquiries and requests from internal and external customers.
 </li>
 <li>
 Trains City employees on accounting processes, grant requirements, and financial software applications.
 </li>
 <li>
 Assists the Accounting Manager with reporting analysis, special projects, and key financial ratio analysis.
 </li>
 <li>
 Performs other related duties as assigned.

 Minimum Qualifications
 
 
 
 
 Education and Experience:
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Bachelor&rsquo;s degree from an accredited institution.
 </li>
 <li>
 One (1) year&rsquo;s experience in a related field of work.
 </li>
 <li>
 Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
 
 
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 Special Qualifications:

 Ability to be bonded.

 Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Requirements

 Knowledge of financial accounting and specialized accounting requirements for government entities.
 </li>
 <li>
 Knowledge of Governmental Accounting Standards Board guidelines.
 </li>
 <li>
 Knowledge of the Governmental Accounting, Auditing, and Financial Reporting model.
 </li>
 <li>
 Knowledge of internal financial controls.
 </li>
 <li>
 Knowledge of accounting principles.
 </li>
 <li>
 Knowledge of computerized financial software.
 </li>
 <li>
 Knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel at an advanced level.
 </li>
 <li>
 Skill in analyzing complex financial problems and identifying solutions.
 </li>
 <li>
 Skill in preparing clear and accurate reports.
 </li>
 <li>
 Skill in establishing cooperative and productive working relationships.
 </li>
 <li>
 Skill in setting priorities for competing projects with established deadlines.
