In this vital role, you will prepare accurate and competitive bids on large-scale residential, commercial, industrial, and government infrastructure projects using industry-leading tools such as AGTEK Gradework, Trimble Business Center, and HCSS HeavyBid.  Key Responsibilities
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Interpret and analyze engineering plans, specifications, and reports to develop project estimates
 </li>
 <li>
 Prepare detailed cost estimates using HCSS HeavyBid
 </li>
 <li>
 Perform quantity takeoffs with AGTEK and Trimble software
 </li>
 <li>
 Solicit pricing from suppliers and subcontractors, evaluate bids for accuracy and completeness
 </li>
 <li>
 Attend site walkthroughs and pre-bid meetings as needed
 </li>
 <li>
 Build preliminary project schedules and assess project risks
 </li>
 <li>
 Collaborate with other estimators and company leadership to deliver high-quality proposals
 </li>
 <li>
 Present professionally to clients, architects, subcontractors, and vendors
 </li>
 <li>
 Ensure on-time, accurate, and complete bids are submitted in a competitive format
 
 
 </li>
 </ul>
 
 Qualifications
 
 
 
 <ul>
 <li>
 Minimum of 5 years of estimating experience in heavy civil/sitework construction
 </li>
 <li>
 Proficient in Microsoft Excel, HCSS HeavyBid - required, AGTEK - preferred and knowledge of Trimble and AutoCAD a plus
 </li>
 <li>
 Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience
 </li>
 <li>
 Experience preparing both public and private bid proposals
 </li>
 <li>
 Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
 </li>
 <li>
 Ability to manage deadlines and work well under pressure
 </li>
 <li>
 Demonstrated understanding of construction processes, logic, sequencing, and cost strategies

 Key Responsibilities

 Manage all phases of commercial construction projects (strip centers, offices, warehouses, restaurants, gas stations).
 </li>
 <li>
 Lead ground-up builds, site development, and tenant interior build-outs.
 </li>
 <li>
 Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets.
 </li>
 <li>
 Oversee permitting, inspections, and code compliance with architects, engineers, and municipalities.
 </li>
 <li>
 Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, vendors, and internal field teams.
 </li>
 <li>
 Lead jobsite safety protocols and ensure OSHA compliance.
 </li>
 <li>
 Conduct weekly progress meetings and generate status reports.
 </li>
 <li>
 Negotiate change orders and contracts with subcontractors/vendors.
 </li>
 <li>
 Provide leadership and mentorship to superintendents and field staff.
 </li>
 <li>
 Oversee multiple projects simultaneously and maintain schedule accountability.
