<div>Position Summary:
The Bar Manager is responsible for the overall operation, profitability, and membership experience of the West Lounge Bar. This position is a hands-on position and will manage the bartenders, lounge servers, and overall beverage program development to exceed the service standards of The Country Club of Birmingham. This position is a full-time position that will include health benefits, PTO, sick and personal time, and offers a hospitality schedule without late week-night hours, supporting a balanced work environment.
Salary Range: $60,000 + annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Duties &amp; Responsibilities:
Bar Operations<ul><li>Oversee daily bar operations, ensuring efficient service and a welcoming atmosphere.</li><li>Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and presentation in all bar areas.</li><li>Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal alcohol service regulations.</li><li>Monitor bar/lounge performance and implement improvements to enhance service and member satisfaction.</li></ul>
Staff Management<ul><li>Assist the Food &amp; Beverage Manager in hiring, training, scheduling and supervision of bartenders, lounges servers, and barback.</li><li>Provide ongoing training on service standards, product knowledge, and responsible alcohol service.</li><li>Conduct performance evaluations, alongside Food &amp; Beverage Manager, and provide coaching to improve team performance.</li><li>Foster a positive, professional, and team-oriented work environment</li></ul>
Inventory &amp; Cost Control<ul><li>Monitor beverage costs and implement strategies to control waste and maintain profitability.</li><li>Develop systems to track and address cost of goods concerns.</li><li>Assist management team in controlling inventory and ordering.</li></ul>
Beverage Program Development<ul><li>Create and maintain a beverage menu including cocktails, wine, beer, and specialty offerings.</li><li>Assist management in seasonal or club-specific beverage promotions or events</li><li>Work with Purchasing Manager, Food and Beverage Director and vendors/distributors to source quality products at competitive prices.</li></ul>
Member Service<ul><li>Engage with club members and build relationships to anticipate their needs and preferences.</li><li>Ensure a high level of personalized service and attention to detail</li><li>Address member feedback and resolve service issues promptly and professionally.</li></ul>
Financial and Administrative Duties<ul><li>Monitor bar/lounge sales and prepare reports for management</li><li>Assist in developing and managing the bar budget</li><li>Ensure proper POS procedures are followed</li></ul>
Qualifications:<ul><li>Previous experience managing a bar, preferably in a resort, private club or upscale restaurant environment.</li><li>Strong leadership and team management skills</li><li>Extensive knowledge of spirits, wine, beer, and cocktail preparation</li><li>Experience with beverage inventory management and cost control.</li><li>Excellent communication and service skills</li><li>Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.</li><li>Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift at least 40 lbs.</li></ul></div>
