Job Overview We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Independent Auto Appraiser to join our dynamic team serving the Lansing MI market.In this role, you will be responsible for accurately assessing vehicle damages, estimating repair costs, and providing transparent evaluations to facilitate fair claims processing.Your expertise will help ensure that vehicle assessments are thorough, precise, and aligned with industry standards.This position offers an the opportunity to work independently while collaborating with repair shops, insurance adjusters, and clients to deliver exceptional service and integrity in every appraisal.Responsibilities<ul><li>Conduct comprehensive inspections of damaged vehicles to evaluate the extent of repairs needed.</li><li>Develop detailed auto estimates using CCC auto estimating software, ensuring accuracy and completeness.</li><li>Communicate effectively with repair shops, vehicle owners, and the regional Doan office to clarify assessment findings.</li><li>Negotiate repair costs with repair shops when needed.</li><li>Apply mechanical knowledge and auto body repair understanding to identify hidden damages or potential issues.</li><li>Review automotive repair estimates for compliance with industry standards and underwriting guidelines.</li><li>Document all appraisal findings thoroughly, maintaining organized records for each case.</li></ul>Requirements<ul><li>Proven experience in auto estimating, auto restoration, or automotive repair fields.</li><li>Strong negotiation skills combined with excellent analysis capabilities.</li><li>Mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems and auto body repair techniques.</li><li>Familiarity with auto service management and service writing processes.</li><li>Ability to perform detailed analysis of auto damage and accurately assess repair needs.</li><li>Knowledge of auto insurance underwriting procedures is a plus.</li><li>Effective communication skills to collaborate with various stakeholders in the claims process.</li></ul>Job Type: ContractWork Location: On the road
