Job DescriptionThis is a hybrid position located in the Washington DC area and is a client facing role requiring rapport development. As a Lean Six Sigma specialist, you will provide support to a federal agency in streamlining its operational processes through the use of process modeling, analysis, Lean Six Sigma and reengineering techniques, and provide ongoing support to efficiency related projects and activities across the organization.The ideal candidate will have experience with federal government grant making and/or procurement processes along with experience in Power BI use and capabilities.Job Responsibilities<ul><li>Support building a common understanding of business current processes among appropriate stakeholders.</li><li>Document current processes utilizing process maps, process narratives, or other approaches, as applicable.</li><li>Support enabling stakeholders to identify, using Lean Six Sigma and other analysis techniques, opportunities to optimize or otherwise re-engineer the processes including measurable metrics for improvement.</li><li>Support defining target processes that meet stakeholder improvement goals (e.g., &ldquo;to-be&rdquo; processes). Document &ldquo;to-be&rdquo; processes utilizing process maps, process narratives, and other approaches, as applicable.</li><li>Support developing implementation plans that include change management and communication strategies for re-engineered / to-be processes, as applicable.</li><li>Provide ongoing client support around enhancing organizational processes via the participation in relevant meetings and discussions associated with organizational functions, processes, activities, etc.</li><li>Provide other client support, as tasked.</li></ul>Job Requirements<ul><li>Bachelor's Degree required</li><li>Mimimum of 3 years experience with process improvement</li><li>Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt required</li><li>Experience with Kaizen event organization, scheduling, logistics, etc.</li><li>Leading / Facilitating Client teams / projects</li><li>Experience understanding business process goals, systems, data, people requirements, and identifying opportunities for improvements across all aspects individually and collectively.</li><li>Direct Experience with Federal government agencies and process improvment.</li><li>Direct experience understanding stakeholder and customer requirements, and how to improve processes to best address those expectations.</li><li>Experience organizing and managing Lean Six Sigma / process improvement projects.</li><li>Direct experience with developing process models in MS Visio.</li></ul>Skills, Abilities and Behaviors<ul><li>Focused on the customer, their needs, expectations and requirements.</li><li>Effective, experienced communicator able to support both large and small process groups, to drive towards solutions, and engage participants in a positve way to facilitate organizational improvement.</li><li>Experience with effective communciations organization wide.</li><li>Empathic and commonsense understanding of Lean Six Sigma and BPR tools and techniques, and their practical implementation within organizations resistant to change.</li><li>Able to work individually or in groups to identify customer challenges, determine strategies for meeting those strategies, developing processes implementing those strategies, and supporting to-be process adoption across an enterprise.</li><li>Excellent writing skills.</li><li>Team player ready to focus on the customer</li></ul>Supplemental Capabilities<ul><li>Excel (Advanced / Super-User Level)</li><li>Power BI</li><li>Purchasing &amp; Acquisitions</li><li>Strategic Sourcing</li></ul>Tools &amp; Technologies<ul><li>MS Office Suite</li><li>MS Visio</li><li>MS Project</li></ul>Additional informationPreferred candidates will be located within the Washington DC, Maryland, Northern Virginia (DMV) area.
