The Fitch Law Firm is a small personal injury law firm based in Columbus, Ohio seeking a full-time Legal Assistant to join our team to help with case management, administrative, and legal tasks.You will provide the firm with a variety of legal services under the supervision of an attorney. As a legal assistant, you will be tasked with a variety of duties to support lawyers, including drafting documents, conducting legal research, and organizing files. The ideal candidate for this position has a strong work ethic, exceptional communication skills, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Training and support will be provided to you as well from the lawyers and support staff.This position offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced attorneys, gain valuable legal experience, and contribute to meaningful cases. If you are a dedicated professional with a passion for the legal field, we encourage you to apply.Schedule (flexible): Hours: 8:00 am &ndash; 4:00 pm Monday through Thursday and 8:00 am &ndash; 2:00 pm on Friday (35.5 hours per week)Responsibilities include: <ul><li>Screen, direct, and prioritize incoming calls and emails to lawyers and other support staff</li><li>Draft, proofread, and file or send legal documents, such as motions or pleadings</li><li>Maintain case files, including client communications and court deadlines</li><li>Perform administrative duties, such as managing calendars, scheduling appointments, conferences, and depositions, and handling routine correspondence</li><li>Perform legal and background research when requested</li></ul>Qualifications:<ul><li>Adapt to changing priorities and work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment</li><li>1-3 years of experience as a Legal Assistant, Paralegal or Legal Secretary</li><li>Associates or Bachelor's degree in Paralegal Studies, or prior experience as a paralegal or assistant is preferred but not required</li><li>Must have excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills, and must be able to professionally and appropriately communicate with a diverse group of individuals</li><li>Must demonstrate technical proficiency and the capability of performing at an intermediate level with respect to the Microsoft Office products, including Word and Excel</li><li>Highly organized and detail-oriented with capability to work independently on projects, planning and organizing</li><li>Experience handling sensitive and/or confidential information is preferred but not required</li></ul>Benefits:<ul><li>Salary Range: $26.40/hr - $27.40/hr</li><li>Work-life balance</li><li>Flexible schedule</li><li>Free parking</li><li>Upon completion of Firm&rsquo;s grace periods: PTO, Health insurance, and 401(k) program</li></ul>Job Type: Full-timePay: $26.40 - $27.40 per hourExpected hours: 35.5 per weekBenefits:<ul><li>401(k)</li><li>Health insurance</li><li>Paid time off</li></ul>Experience:<ul><li>Law office: 1 year (Required)</li></ul>Ability to Commute:<ul><li>Columbus, OH 43215 (Required)</li></ul>Work Location: In person
